I'm making a new Warboss and in his fluff he's going to have been a Gladiator who killed his slave owners, I read in a novel that the DE make slaves fight in gladitorial games and there where even Orks. Do you think Chaos would do the same or just DE? I can't really think of another race that would (besides orks).

Pretty much all of them except Craftworld Eldar and Tau, really. And even then you never know with the Samm-hain Eldar. Oh, on an Imperial world it would probably have been an underground thing, but far from impossible. Chaos had a daemon world called Kharnikal, where champions of Khorne would bring slaves and captured enemies to fight in an arena. The Dark Eldar are a good bet too. Commoragh is rife with all sorts of aliens, mostly slaves but also mercenaries, and the Dark Eldar will put anything in the ring if they think it will make good sport.

I was gonna say I doubt the Imperium would but there are some crooked individuals within the Emperors realm, crime lords and rich nobles who like illegal sports

The DE are the most obvious but how am I going to justify that one Ork gladiator broke free and killed his slavers. I mean the idea is that there are other Orks fighting as gladiators and my Warboss leads them in revolt after years of fighting in gladitorial games then he and his nobz gather an army and do what Orks do best (pretty much the whole Spartacus thing, I think there is an Ork story like that already but I don't care )

But if he was a De slave how could he have fought his way out of commoragh without having to butcher every DE in the city (btw his name is Grimfang da Butcha). In the book I read the slaves where forced to fight on a planet in the Warp controlled by a DE witch and it wasen't commoragh. Do the DE have outposts?

Well, that's more or less Angron's origin story.

I don;t think he'd have to kill every Dark Eldar in the city, jut kill his way to the nearest Raider and escape. Maybe e's a partikular kunnin Ork an remembers da' way da' spiky blokes brought 'im in.

Lysander choked his way off of an Iron Warriors fortress world. I think a Warboss could krump enough Dark Panzees to escape.

Or the Big Mek knows these things, or the Kommando Nob... or the Warboss actually has the brains to ask someone to pretty please show him the vehicle bay or get krumped?

I like this idea from a fluff perspective, it would be cool if the warboss's escape is not a lone wolf thing and more of a team, kinda like a Orky version of the A-team, with each member doing his part in orky style, afterall orks are known for team work when they need it.
It would be fun to flesh out a Mekboy ( who plans the escape vehicle and improvises weapons), and a painboy ( who concocts some remedies for the drugs or implants that are placed in the slaves to control them ), or the Kommando who figures out the airduct/sewers, toilet pipes, and leads them creeping to freedom, maybe even a weirdboy that has the visions of where to go and when, top it off the big Warboss to put it all together......could be epic!

And as to groups that would use gladiators for amusement, I would agree about any other than Eldar ( at least most craftworlds) and Tau , but for sheer over the top nastiness I would say a Slanneshi controlled planet in the Eye of terror, or of course the DE, both would have the depth and reason to keep gladiators around for continued fun, at least until their toys break and the infrastructure to make a truly epic escape story....one to tell scare the grots with.

THIS! Da Ork boss fought a big fight, possibly a carnifex and smashed through the gates or somethin. Links up with a bunch of other orks in cages, then lets em all out and finds out they're all different oddboyz wif skillz. Maybe even picks up a gretchin slave as his own?

An Ork version of A-Team? Nice. It'd be Da Green Teem! Cuz Orks iz da best!

Hell, one of the WD around the original DE release (Might be 229?) had a gladiatorial combat minigame complete with fighting cage and spikes and all).

Tau would consider it barbaric.
Eldar fight on the battlefield. They have ritual duels and so-on for the aspects (rival groups and honour and so on) but they are generally not blood fights (unless someone gets out of control).

Actually he's more like a particularly insane ork (which is saying alot) who never talks and dosen't even beat his subbordinates he outright kills them to get his point across and if "remembers da' way da' spiky blokes brought 'im on" is in referance to knowing how to pilot a Raider the problem with that is that DE slavers don't keep their slaves on the bridge of the ship. see my point? lol

So this is the background I've got in the works, I think it gives his story without needing to much detail so I don't have to bother with specifics. He started off life as a Feral Ork untill he was captured by DE slavers and forced to fight in gladitorial games on a DE slave world, during which he lost his arm and eye. After eventually escaping with a mob of ork gladiators who became his nobz he returned with an army of recently subjugated tribes and fresh bioniks in place of his lost body parts. After killing everything alive on the planet and taking the heads of the DE leaders as his first trophies he set out on a Waaagh that consumed entire sectors. Of note is that he does not take slaves, this isn't out of some notion that slavery is bad due to his experiences he just prefers to kill everyone and this has earned him the Ork tittle of Da Butcha.

He should make each of the survivors of the slavers face him in the arena one by one....just to show everyone who's da boss!

p.s. I may make a Green team myself, that idea just seems so cool and fun, would be really enjoyable to make a group of badboyz oddboyz into a orky killteam on steroids

Just read Hammer of the Daemons from the Grey Knight series, the whole book is set on a gladiator world of Khorne.

Also I believe the list of offenders for gladiators goes: Imperium, Deldar, Orkz and Chaos.

Actually, in the Necrmunda rulebook, there's a short story about a human gladiator escaping the arena during a fight. IIRC, he was a sub-hiver that had been drugged and kidnapped by some criminal and sold as a slave to the owner of the arena. He was "augmented" with various creepy bionic weapons and looked more like a cyborg once he got back to freedom.

Orks no, they would rather be fighting themselves.

Necrons, no -- just kill them.

Tyranids, no-- just eat them.

Deldar, yes, probably.

Eldar, no -- they've got better things to do.

Tau, no -- it's not their style.

The fluff already says that Orks have pit fights and slaves. And no one said that the Orks woulden't fight the slaves so this isn't 100% accurate lol

Necrons take slaves sometimes, but never for gladiatorial fights.
Ork would probably just fight eachother.
DE still the best bet on this one.
'Nids would eat them.
Eldar...wouldn't capture them in the first place.
Tau probably just try to hire any orks out.
Humans on hiveworlds definitely though.
I think either Slaanesh or Khorne chaos followers would have slave fights.

Impossible. Tau hate orks because orks are their oldest ennemy. They're the first xenos species they encountered, and they suffered catastrophic losses fighting the greenskins. It is said that orks and Chaos worhsippers are the only two factions that the Tau empire does not deal with and attack on sight. So the tau would simply kill every single greenskin they get their hands on.

I imagine orks would do slave gladiator fights but eventually would get bored and the whole crowd would join in or somebody wouldn't pay up on their bet and the whole crowd would join in or the unpopular one would win and the whole crowd would join in etc etc etc.

I also imagine orks would let prisoners go just to chase them down and kill them. Gretchin would probably poke fun at them as well since prisoners are the only ones below them and they probably want to pass on the abuse. I'm guessing this is why you don't see too many ork slaves; they invade a world take slaves, kill them on the way to the next world, invade a world, take slaves, etc etc etc.

Chaos and dark eldar, or a rival ork tribe. Hive world is also plausible.

Orks don't have gladiators... that would be indicating that it is somehow a special event. The entirety of an Ork's life is pretty much a gladiatorial battle with the occasional breaks for fungus beer.

So it'd have to be Dark Eldar, Chaos, or Imperium most likely.

I saw a segment from one of the older Ork codices that fits this bill. Talked about how the Orks will sometimes conquer a populace rather than murdering all of them, and that the conquered people essentially become slaves. However, some humans accept this fate more easily because the Orks don't rule with an iron fist, so the tribute they pay and work they do is little different from the status quo in the IoM. Particularly bright humans that are taken on as personal "slaves"/"servants" to an Ork will sometimes achieve a fair amount of power and influence if they have the technological and political know-how to assist an Ork on his rise to power and status. They essentially become esteemed advisors, except they are kept in the shadows because no Ork would ever make it publicly visible they were taking advice from a human.

More OT, however, I agree with the general consensus of Chaos Demons/CSM, Orks and DE, and some rogue underground factions in the IoM. Nidz and 'Crons seem almost unthinkable, and it's hard to imagine Tau or Eldar doing it.

Aside from the DE which thrive on these spectacles, you also have the Imperium of Man. Apparently they have gladiatorial fights using Chrono gladiators, servitor gladiators, and regular prisoners or something like that.
