So, the T-fexes I've been production lining are approaching readiness. It occurred to me that, whilst most of them are being made to order, I could easily accumulate three of the brutes for myself and fill out all my HS with them. And have one with each weapon configuration. Even if the Borer Hive and Acid Spray are sub optimal choices (or rather, add close-ranged anti-infantry firepower to an army that already excels at this), I'm going to do it because I can. With my intentions to convert a SH Broodlord into a Ridley-looking Parasite, and some Razorwings into Skyslashers, I thought I may as well throw them in and mop up the rest of the points with obligatory Synapse, Troops and some mobile cover for the big buggers:

Claws (bit of a pointsink, but they're on the model and I'm a WYSIWYG stickler)

Parasite and Skyslashers are by no means essential, just thought I'd throw them in as a wee DS anvil to complement this MC sledgehammer. Thoughts? Reckon I'm going to go for the rending template and 5 inch blast on the T-fexes.

I'd drop the 3x thropes (or at least to one) and max out Gargoyles/a second unit of termies. Used with Sks they can really tie up some units.

Missing some Synapse which could be a problem as the warriors are footslogging and the gargs/Sks are flying/fast.

I think the list is terrain dependant (can you keep the termies out of LOS and the warriors) and who you face.

Yeah, probably overkill on the Venomthropes. I'd like to give 5+ cover to the three T-fexes, help 'em soak up LC/Plasma.

Also, mainly throwing him in as I like him and like the model I'm making of him. Not particularly necessary in this particular list, though I do like having a DS unit and Jump Infantry that can go in Reserve. Pondering replacing both Para and Sks with Swarmlord, just for Nidzilla lulz...

Drop the regeneration. Give 2 of them rupture cannon and keep the acid spray. (or go 3 rupture cannons)

Keep 2 or 3 venonthropes.

Fix up your HQ and troop choises. Paracite and warriors? You are to points light for both. Get a trevigon for HQ, and get some models with less wound per point count then the warriors. Your oponent will focus all shots on your troop choises and then be abel to draw.

How big are your Tyrannofex conversions? Because if they are large enough to block LOS to the venomthrope, it may be better just to use one venomthrope to hide behind the T-fex wall. With the extra points, pick up some more gaunts or a tervigon. You already have a lot of T6, and poisoned termagaunts are not a thing your opponent will want to charge, particularly if the venomthrope is is range for dangerous terrain.

I know the Fleshborer Hive is waaay suboptimal, but the three different T-fex main weapons are the core concept here. I know Borer is going to be the runt of the litter and achieve little, but I plan to build one anyway out of slightly OCD hobby completeness - and fancy giving the three of 'em a run, before all but the Rupture carrier get permanently retired to the display shelf/Apoc barracks.

Tervigon is definitely a great thought for HQ, but I'm a ways off from having one ready. Might go for Tyrant/Swarmlord for MC target priority overdose, with a pile o' gaunts...

One thing that disapoints me about the tyrannofex is the AP4 of the rupture cannon :(. So wait, If a space marine gets hit full on by a giant tic followed by a giand seed, he survives 2/3 times ??? wut????

I saw one 2k list somewhere that had 2 tervigons, a unit of 3 carnifexes, and 2 tyrannofexes XD. thats 36 t6 wounds O.o
