This had promise as a really nice alternative Keeper of Secrets.

And then I saw the price. Wowzers. They have a FW Price point, but not FW quality.

Enough so that it wouldn't look like a 32mm model at 500% magnification.

Have to agree. This has vast areas of smooth, blank skin, and the face is less than awesome. It doesn't even have eyes, and not in a "not supposed to have eyes way." It does look like a much smaller model re-cast in a much larger size.

The head does look a bit blank. And what's holding up that loincloth? Otherwise nice, if you can paint flesh really well.

Considering this is a garage kit and not some mass produced mini from a large corporation the price seems about right. It could possibly go down a tad but I've seen much more expensive garage kits before.

Forced to agree Sersi, there is a definite lack of detail, muscle tone and more refined sculpting on the face. I think you have a great start here, but with a bit more work I think you could have vastly more sellable product.

I apologize for the negative comments, but I hope you succeed no matter what my opinion is, but, if it can help up your marketability I would rather say something than nothing!

Cheers -

Garage kit or not, it looks kinda weird when there's so little detail.

Girl-demon with horns look borderline slowed :/

I do bet that someone with a little sculpting skill will make this into a wonderful piece though.

I agree that the lack of detail detracts significantly from these sculpts. That said, I would recommend that you team up with a sculptor who is better at the small detail, while you (Sersi) create the overall figure (like you've done here). Without that extra level of detail, these models are simply not worth the price you're asking (even if that price is reasonable vis-a-vis your production costs/costs of similar "grage kits")

They are good, or rather they could be, but I feel like there's another level of detail that needs to go onto them before they are finished items for sale.

As others have said, I think it's a sound foundation for further work.

What are the issues regarding copyright of sculpts, because that screams Keeper of Secrets to me (as you no doubt intended).

I seem to remember hearing that GW had to drop the previous sculpts for Daemonettes (which everyone loved) because they were too similar to another product.

Not trying to make waves, I'm just curious...

GW dropped the previous sculpts for Daemonettes because they wanted to make Chaos Daemons all old school as a response to the nostalgia that surrounds their past sculpts. It worked for the Bloodletters, but I can't say it did for the Daemonettes...

At first I thought not bad but a bit plain but it is rteally growing on me. Either way, it is still a very good model and I am very impressed that it has gone from an idea to a sellable modelam

2014 will be the year of zero GW purchases. Kneadite instead of GS, no paints or models. 2014 will be the year I finally make the move to military models and away from miniature games.

I'm gonna be contrary and say it doesn't need any more detail on most of the skin. I'm having trouble reading what the eyes are supposed to be, but otherwise I think the detail is about perfect for a naked demon.

$100 is a bit steep for me, but I bet people wouldn't think it was as bad if we could get a size comparison shot. But it really is a great-looking model. I want to be able to afford it. The pose and believability of the limbs really is top-notch.

Anyone else notice that the pics of the female demons had black covering the nipples, except on the pics of the demon who had four breasts? What, was the inclusion of another set the line that needed to be crossed in order to make it safe for viewing or something? I find that notion fascinating.

Also, I too lament the loss of the hauntingly alien demonnettes of the last edition. The "new" ones just don't measure up.

Good news. This is the best time in the hobby. Full of promise. GW lets us down each time and we know it but secretly we're hoping that this is the edition that GW gives us a balanced game that can also be played competitively at tournaments. I'm loving it.

About double what I would pay for it but still a cool sculpt. I would like to see more detail as well but still looks like a great start.

I like them. I don't have the spare money right now but if I did I would pick them up. Perhaps a little pricey but as stated they are not being mass produced so that will tend to raise the price. Love to see you add some further detail over time. I think you have a great start to something that could be really cool.

Price on the auction linked in the first post is $60 Buy It Now. Not a bad price for such a large miniature methinks.

Last I heard it was just run by a couple that did it only to put themselves through school and when they finished school they stopped and looked to sell off the molds and whatnot.

A 60$ price tag seems fair to me, I agree the eyes would need more work but overall it's a good sculpt. I'm considering getting one, I'd add a couple of piercings on the model and try to add eyes but I would leave the rest unchanged.
