What would be the appropriate amount of boyz to field in a 1000 point ork army.
I don't want too much or too little.

As many as you own.
One 'needs' 174 boys for an ork army really.
A more numbers based answer is 2 just scrapes in as 'Hmm, ok then...'

This is what list i would run

x2 Big Meks w/ Kustom Force fields 85pts each
x3 mobs of 19 boyz and 1nob with PK
x1 mob of 12 Lootas
x2 squadrons of 2 killa kans w/ grotzookas

so i guess my answer is 60 boyz!

Thunder Child's list is good, except split out the lootas into two units of 5. Use the extra points to get bosspoles on the boys, and kombi-skorchas on the Meks.

Would 50 boyz work well?

At 1000pts very few armies are going to be able to kill enough of them. but the more the merrier

I would bring 3 units of 30 boys in a 1k point game.
Each unit costs just over 200 points, so you still have point a for war bosses, lootas, etc.

It also nuts enough asses on the table to where your opponent will have a hard time dealing with them all.

I think I'll run my army with 45 boyz, but make up for it with a kan wall
