in the codex regular nobz can take twin linkked shootas...but nobs that are upgraded from boyz cannot...and yet the box of boyz you can buy comes with the parts to make a nob with a twin linkked shoota....so here is the question:

Can a nob that is in a group of shoota boyz take a twin linkked shoota?

YO DAKKA DAKKA!

No he may not. Frankly I don't consider the slightly musclier Ork in the Boyz box to be a Nob anyway, he's too puny... and the Nobs from the Nobz set are so much more awesome!

No, a boyz squad nob does not let you take a twin-linked shoota.

Also, there isn't a twin-linked shoota in the box, just a fancy slugga.

I will have to disagree with you there, the leader of a mob of boyz is simply the toughest and strongest of them (otherwise he would have been duffed over and his place taken), however he is not 'ard enough to get into the warboss's nobz retinue yet (as he is smaller and cannot duff over one of the nobz in the retinue). The nob in the boyz box gives a pretty good hierarchy of size:
Boy, boyz nob, nob, warboss.

Back OT, no a boyz nob cannot take a TL Shoota, it is as Scott-S6 put it a fancy-looking slugga. Remember, Boyz mob nob != Nobz mob nob (as they have different sets of rules!)

Yeah to become a 'Nob of Boys' all the ork has to do is take his PK and survive surgury. From then barring any AP3 fire he will continue to grow and graduate to being a Nobby Nob.

Actually barring AP6...

Seriously it sucks to be a unit leader with 6+ armor save

Which is part of why a lot of folks give the Nob 'eavy armor so he can bounce a non-PW wound or two during the game.

Mann has it, I made a typo there, "AP4", This is because poor nobz are dead (or at least toothless) Thanks guys.

But they have 2 wounds...and up to 29 shield wounds to take advantage of...armor really isnt worth it if you ask me...if your nob is taking those saves then your squad is probably getting swept anyway!

Seriously it sucks having a 6+ save? HA! By the time you get the wounds down to the nob, the unit has long since used up its usefulness. Id rather be a nob with a 6+ save in the middle of 20-30 boyz, then 1 terminator.
