So last weekend I took the following list to a 1st place victory for a local tourney:
HQ

Mephiston - 250
Elites

1x Sang Priest - 50 pts
5x Assault Terminators - 2x LC, 3x TH/SS - 215 pts
Furioso Dreadnaught - Blood Talons w/ melta, SB - 125 pts
Troops

10x Assault Marines - 2x melta, PF - 235 pts
10x Assault Marines - 2x melta, PF - 235 pts
Fast Attack

Land Speeder - HF/MM - 70 pts
Land Speeder - HF/MM - 70 pts

Now, this coming weekends tourney is 1850... heres an idea for a list:

Well, since playing them every game, I've lost only 2 ravens in 6 games; once to tau after pathfinders turned my 4++ to a 6++ and a second time to a lucky dark lance lol. Most games, however, they perform awesomely; the 72" missiles mean you can play keep away if need be, and the ability to melta 1 vehicle and AC another means you can lock down up to 4 vehicles a turn. Speeders also work really well with ravens as most AT goes toward the ravens, leaving speeders to do their work.
I have yet to try the list vs nids or orks, which I am very interested in seeing the outcome (they're the reasons I run heavy flamers damnit!)

Anyway about the list, I would keep it if it wins, I would probably add in another librarian, also I would like to know how you won, 1st place in that tournament list? Honestly there is no reason for you bring two stormraven, they are a waste of points, because they get shot down on either the bottom of the half or the turn that they Deepstrike. You could use the points for a Vanguard unit, the landspeed, could be drop and add some more assualt troops. Plus i know that Mesphiston is a beast but he is better off with a MECH BA list and not a DoA list.

yeah in the first list I would find points for the sanguinor, but thats just IMO. Anyway I think drop a land speeder and a stormraven and take 6-7 vanguard vets with pws and stormshields

I wouldn't take one stormraven though, most people find that 2 stormravens are better because your enemy can't concentrate on one. Im with you on the Land Speeders though, I never have any luck with my three. Also just put the DC in a Pod, for 35 points it the best way to cope with rage and get to your enemy fast.

The reasoning being the death co. is to give me 2 punchy squads. The entire strategy behind this list is pressure. With meph and the termis, it created a two-front assault most opponents were hard pressed to keep up with; it allowed me to hit hard where and when I needed it. The AM's normally get combat squadded, so I typically have 4 troops.

2 ravens works REALLY well. I'm trying something different from typical DoA and its been working awesomely. Also, meph works great in this; he has a ride that he can come in from reserve with and punch things when needed!

VV's are great... in an entirely DoA army. I'm mixing mech and doa

Speeders are great anti-horde units. As well, they also do reasonably well at popping tanks or drawing fire away from other things. Last tourney they accounted for: 10 wyches, 2 raiders, 1 land raider, 1 speeder, and 2 rhinos. Pretty good for 210 points!
I'm pretty much looking for feedback as to what to use instead of DC, or if the DC looks good. Rest of the list is solid enough; just not to sure what to swap big M for!

Honestly there is no reason for you bring two stormraven, they are a waste of points, because they get shot down on either the bottom of the half or the turn that they Deepstrike.
Bad experiences with a Stormraven?
They work fantastically in my experience. They look like a great choice for this list.

Oh yeah have not had a good game with them yet, and I played quite a few. Maybe it is just my gaming buddies always targeting it till it EXPLODES!!!

Thats the point of ravens in most games; get your cargo at least halfway up the board. If it survives past T2 or so, normally the raven won't go down (your opponent has more important stuff to kill). Thats why 2 ravens with REALLY killy stuff inside your opponent CANNOT ignore works great; if they drop 1 raven, its to be expected. Dropping both ravens in 1 turn after turboing is pretty uncanny or your rolling like crap lol. In my experience it normally takes at least 2-3 pens before the raven goes down (with cover), which normally takes a lot of missiles!
