Basically you've been on GW, PP or whoever's website seen some awesome models and bought them on a whim (Hwihm). You crack open the box and realise there is a fugly flaw in the model design you hadn't spotted from the Pics. My best example happened today: My local GW finally restocked on Incubi, i happily bought them because i thought they were pretty neato. Got home: 'hmmm only 3 different sculpts, oh well they still look cool' then picked up a klaive and to my horror! 'OH MY GOODNESS THEY ARE ACTUALLY TALLER THAN THE INCUBI!'. I was a little annoyed to say the least, i am now currently wondering how to best convert the models to accommodate the overly large Komedy Klaives.

What are your examples and how did you cope?

It's pretty obvious the Klaives are taller than the Incubi themselves. It'll probably look better once you have it painted.

Personally it's usually the reverse. I would look on the website, see the model and think "...how did this ever get approved!?". Then when I buy the actual model, I find that it's actually pretty decent, if I dont outright fall in love with it.

Hell, I'm not that bothered by the Stormraven. Why? Because, as it stands right now, it's "limited use".When it's shoehorned in to the Codex: Space Marines, then yeah. I'll be irked.

When I'm editing alot, you know I have a gakload of homework to (not) do.

I was like that with the raider, now i realise it is one of the nicest looking vehicles from GW.

Fantasy Khorne Lord on a Juggernaught (sic) - Absolutely amazing model, pictures are all awesome. The lords butt/saddle area is really, really crappy compared to the rest of the model, and never visible in pictures.

Consider this:

When you look at a model in pictures, you're looking at the front of it. When you look at a model on the table, you're looking at the top of it.

Aside from showcase-style models, I've adjusted my painting accordingly. Vehicle sides are nowhere near as important as vehicle tops!

Tier 1 is the new Tactical.
