It has been years since I have built a display board, I am using pink foam, mounted glued onto thick cork board that is in a frame, it was what I had lying around....anyway I use gorilla glue to mount the foam to the cork and so far no warping, but I want to add my sand for the ground work, and I cant remember what type of glue I used on my last one, I know it wasn't elmers white glue, being mostly water that stuffs warps boards pretty bad, any way what glue do you guys recommend, the board is 10 x 16 and I am on a budget.

If your worried about warping from the white glue, just use paint to stick the sand to the base.

I must respectfully disagree with Ran. Paint will not hold the sand on well enough.

I use carpenter's glue. It is much more robust but still easily mixes with water. Paint down a layer of undiluted glue, sprinkle sand, let dry. Then mix up a watered down batch of glue and paint that on top of the sand. Let that dry and paint. Your board will be rock solid in no time.
