I know, they arent a CC army, but i wanted something slightly different for once.
While it would be temping to just spam 3 liths and no end of destroyers, its not my goal.
Idea was to make a CC army, but with minimal shooting unless needed.

Spiders do have ranged weapons, but with WS and BS 2 i rather take the chance of losing an attack and gaining 3 shots lol.

Nightbringer - 360

Lord is pretty much as it is.
Gives me the ability to drag my units about where they are needed the most while keeping them alive.

Nightbringer is there simply as intimidation.
Well, that alongside the fact he is a beast and can hunt most units and vehicles without any problems.

Flayed ones are a simple choice.
since it was those or pariah's, they won out pretty easily.
Pariah's just cost far too much to make them a choice i would take.
Main reason behind that is the fact they dont have the necron rule, so veil and orb are of no use to them.
Also, ill get more punch from alot more flayed ones (and they look better and can be converted)

Warriors are simple as i have no other choice.
simply took 2 x10 to start with, then used what points i had left to bolster them a bit more.

Wraith's are nice since they are S6 and 3++
So they can hunt light armour with thier quick movement and not get brought down by las/plas.
Also, it was them for swarms.
Swarms arent bad, i just find they lack the strength needed to pop vehicles even with Dfields.

Spiders ....... (shudders) ill be swapping those out for tomb stalkers if thier rules get made official.
I simply needed something to fill heavy.
And since 9 MC's for such cheap points was available, i took them.
While they will struggle to catch armour, they should be able to do something when they do.

So, how do i improve this list while keeping the CC theme?
(nightbringer and wraiths will be staying no matter what)

On a final note:
I know crons really dont make the best assault army, however, its something very different from what you usually see.
I will be tweaking this list for a while until i get something i like.
Then i shall be sad enough to actually buy the list and get it ready for gaming lol.

I have to say, it looks like it could hit a lot harder than I expected it would. Also phase out is adequately delayed thank to all the proper necrons.

As for improvement, IMHO the necron codex is too limited for any real suggestions, especially since the nightbringer and Wraiths can't be swapped out. Otherwise I would yell stuff about destroyer lords and scarab swarms...

As fpr the spyders, at BS2, one guass hit isn't worth it over another attack. Another attack will make it more certain that any vechiles assaulted will bite the dust.

If nothing else, I admire your spirit for attempting a new spin on this most aged of codices

I know
I was actually pretty impressed that they could have a solid ish build to some degree.

Phase out was an initial thought, however, as you said, all the extra bodies delay that quite a bit.

Spider - Keep in mind that a moving vehicle will be harder to hit
However, atleast with the gun its a single hit /3 on average.
They are just pure crap though, i need official rules for stalkers, and soon lol.

Dlords and scarabs - Dlords are very nice, dont get me wrong.
However, the extra movement isnt really needed since he will be used to drag units about.
The only use i would have for that would be for leaving the unit and hitting armour, which would ignore the idea of veil.

Scarabs are cool, but just not enough real impact against lower armour and troops.
Also, keep in mind blasts do double and the whole swarm can be ID pretty easily.
Something like a battlecannon could drop most of a swarm in a single shot.

Thanks, and thanks again for the C&C

I know you said that Wraiths were there to stay, but with the new FAQ a Lord with 10 Scarabs, Destroyer body, Phase Shifter, and WarSycthe could be an incredible addition there. 2+ cover as it zooms into position and god help when it makes contact.

The Nightbringer I think will actually have an issue in this list. Single shot long range heavy weapons will really have no other distracting target besides the Nightbringer meaning he is going to get a lot of s8+ love.

Biggest issue hands down though is the troops. At a 2500 level 2 troops is basically an auto loss for necrons in any game where objective score is required.

Ill have to think about the Dlord then, seems like a pretty solid choice after reading that.
also, i need to read the FAQ, forgot to for some reason.

I know, but he usually does anyway.
Even with a lith in the army they tend to shoot him as he is the bigger threat of the 2 and is alot easier to bring down. (unless its railtau)

I know again, hopefully though i can keep the units back far enough and press with the rest of the army.
It should give them a choice of shooting either my troops, or 3/4 of an army rushing them.
Not taking into account that any strong units like fangs or suit teams can be pinned in place early on by wraiths.
With 3 units of them i should be able to hold off major threats.

The other thing about nightbringer drawing fire is that it keeps my numbers up.
Anything aimed at him would ID a basic cron and prevent WBB.
While not crucial, it does however hurt when las devs or other such units open up on warriors.

Rather have them firing at something thats pretty solid and hard to stop.
