I was wondering about doing an Astral Claws Space Marine army, but I didn't know if i could include the forgeworld model of Lugft Huron, as the chapter turned to chaos during the Badab Crusade. Was Lugft a chaos lord or a space marine hero, or both? Any help on this bit of fluff would be greatly appreciated!! Thank you in advance.

Depends how you wish to portray the chapter. If you are going for a pre or mid Badab Crusade, use the Lugft Huron model and play with regular vanilla marines rules. You can find the fluff here

Just play Huron out as a character similar to regular chapter master, but give him a flamer and a master crafted lightning claw. Somewhere in the 200-265 pt range

SPOILERS - from what i can remember...

He was a space marine chapter master who rebelled against the imperium. Him and his renegade force did alot of gene seed manipulation and genetic mutation research. During the Badad war he was not chaos but simply rebeling against the imperium and doing many things shunned on by codex loyal space marines(taking other chapter gene seed, experimenting).
In the books he is a beast in close combat using his claw to pretty much rip the organs out of his foes after punching into his chest.
In the end his alliance is beaten and his chapter in disarray Lugft is mortally wounded after dueling i believe a Salamanders Captain. He retreats into the eye of terror. There he is healed in exchange to accepting to the chaos gods. I believe the book ends with rumors of him and whats left of his now chaos chapter raiding imperium settlements and worlds as they try to gather strenght to seek revenge.

he is not in the eye but the malestrom, and the reason he rebelled is because his chapter was protecting the tiger claws a chapter thought to have been wiped out. lastly it wasn't a salamander it was a star phantom that wounded him with a combi-melta

He has a Heavy Flamer on the FW model. How is it possible for him to even equip that? I don't see in the SM Codex where you could do it.

He has his own rules in an imperial armour book.
so if you want his own rules (with heavy flamer and lightning claw) you will have to buy IIRC the 10th imperial armour book.

haha ya your right it wasnt the salamander who inflicted the mortal wound it was the combi melta. The salamander cap't did wound him in the dual but they both escaped. Thanks for the correction, i knew i had the basic idea but messed up some details!

Huron currently rules over the planet of New Badab (the base of the Red Corsairs) in the Maelstrom on which he annually stages the Skull Harvest.

Pretty sure it was a Star Phantoms captain not a Salamanders captain
