I wanted to use the sanguinary guard double handed sword for my black templars marshel in termi armour, the only termis I own are AOBR so i cant figure it out myself.
Would it look weird with tiny arms?

It would look weird with tiny arms.

Not only would it look weird, but the body is wider, so it wouldnt fit.

However, if you can find a decent set of termie arms with normal hands (no fist) it isnt too hard to pose them.
Just a case of cutting at each joint in the arm and re-posing them with a bit of wire and GS.

Believe it or not, doing this kind of "cut the arm at the joint" thing isn't as easy as you'd think.

Basically you NEED a razorsaw or dremel to make the cuts without damging the surrounding detail.


My advice is to remove the weapon itself from the sanguinary gaurd arm. Remove the hand as close as possible to the handle of the sword. Trim away the remnants of the hand. Then work on modeling it into a Termie powerfist or modified lightning claw.

It is about as easy as i think since i dont have a single marine with a basic pose
Each and every one has been chopped and changed.
Ranging from basic ammo changes to full arm changes and re-sculpts.

I simply use a razor blade to make the cuts as its quick and clean, and does no damage to the areas around it.

This is exactly what you should do!

I've done weapon swaps like this and, as long as they are one-handed, it should look fine (the Sang Guard does have a few one-handed swords with the second hand being a separate piece that wont be missed if you dont attach it). Assuming your using the Termie Captain, you should have no problem switching out the hands. The Power fist guys, however, will look a bit weird if you dont have a spare storm shield arm to do the swap with. However, you could always cut the lower arm at the elbow joint and connect a length of wire down into the sword, the wire is really the only thing giving the terminator's arm that bulk.

thank you for the help, I was hoping to do a hole squad of terminators and have the double handed swords as count as lightning claws il try all of these ideas
