Subject: It's About Time! (Terran Marines from Terminators as Ogryns)

Cross posted from by WIP Blog, I've managed to finish the first batch of my Terran Marine stand ins for Ogryns. I decided I wanted to try Ogryns in my Guard force, but have never liked the normal models. Seeing as I went a little over the top for my Rough Rider counts-as I thought that the least I could do was lavish the same attention on another maybe-never-to-be-used unit type Anyway, on with the show! The first 4 marines including Mr Jim Raynor as the althletic looking chappie and Tychus Findlay with a serious cannon One more marine to finish and then its on to the supporting cast of Firebat, Medic, Marauder and Goliath!

my only gripe is that they look like terminators.
I'd expect those models to come with a 2+ armor save, instead of the virtually nothing that the GW ones come with.

I did ponder the armour thing, but as Guard can't get any type of terminators I didn't think it would be too much of a problem in-game. Hell, Tau Crisis suits are even bigger than Terminators but they modify toughness and number of wounds, rather than a 2+ save. Thats my excuse anyway

Oh, right, they're definitely playable as ogryn. Don't get me wrong on that. You're just going to have to do some serious fluff bending is all.

Love the models! Love the game too, really want to see them painted

I don't play as much as I could. I blame society! And ninjas
Wehrkind: "Nah, see he yells the order, and when everyone looks at him and say "What?" he grabs the vox, hits a guy with it and screams "CAN YOU HEAR MY NOW?!" into the mouth piece. Works like a charm "
Funny thing to do on L4D [if you own the server] Bind the tank music to a key, then at quiet moments press it and start firing like mad at something behind your team whilst screaming 'tank' on voice comms. |

@Ailaros - It's a totally valid point. However in my view fluff is there to be bent @Happy_Pig - The Firebat is in progress The painting worries me a bit, but I will just have to jump right in and get started!

And I jizzed in my pants...
Great work, I really enjoyed playing SC & SCII. Will we see a Siege Tank Russ in the future? That's what I would get really excited about!

If I were you I'd look into making a Deathwing army with these boys. Raynor as Belial and two squads with firebats for heavy flamers and Tychus for an assault cannon. I love your conversions, and really hope to see them painted soon.
