I think this was the best place for this

Anyway I was just thinking about some video games that reminded me of either 40k or Fantasy and wondered if anyone else had any games that reminded them of the 2. And actual games of the 40k or Fantasy universe don't count

For me there is Kigdom Under Fire which had elements that reminded me of The Empire, Orcs and Goblins, Dark Elves, Brettonia etc and of course it's probably because most of the armies in the game have a direct corrilation to those armies. Then there is Oddworld Strangers Wrath, this game reminded me alot of 40k orks because of the humor, names of outlaws, types of minions and their equiptment and of course the fuzzles which look like squigs. And then Gears of War which reminded me of Space Marines vs Orks

Did you miss the forum called 'Video Games'?

But yeah. I just started playing through Killzone 3 and it's definitely giving off a 40k vibe from the get-go.

@Brother SRM: Except others have differant games that may remind them of 40k or Fantasy so no /thread

@Kanluwen: Yeah but I figured that the games forum was for actually discussing games in n specific such as what you thought of x game and all that. If it's the better place I'm sure the Mods will move it

I got the same vibe. Heck I would love to do a Helghast army using Death Korps of Krieg.

Original Devil May Cry- I skipped all the crappy cutscenes, and decided that the main character was a Radical Inquisitor investigating the daemonically over run estate of a decadent imperial noble, looting it for usable Daemon Weapons.
Much better plot, that way

Gears of War is essentially Space Marines vs Tyranorks...

Battlefield 2142 had a feel of being in an advanced scouting IG regiment. Small walkers (Knights rather than Warhounds), hover tanks and one-man drop pods. Top stuff.

Codex: Grey Knights touched me in the bad place...

An obvious choince for me would be

40k
Starcraft (already been said)
Halo series

WFB
Warcraft (already been said)
Eldar Scrolls Oblivion
Shogun Total War (not for the races but for the actual battles and battlefield tactics)

Dunno if anyone ever played it, but a game called 7th Legion. It wasn't out long (I think they may have gotten a C & D, because it just disappeared all of a sudden), but it had tanks, power-armoured units and other things reminiscent of 40K (including Librarian-esque powers).

Some people thought it was TOO ridiculous.

Their suspension of disbelief could handle walking, talking mushroom men, space elfs with ninja star guns, and 8 foot tall psycho-indoctrinated zealots, but not if they rode dinorsaurs.
