Greetings fellow Dakkites,
The other day I completed construction of my first LeMan Russ Battle Tank. I constructed It with the sponsors on because I foresaw using them in the future, However I lacked the foresight to realize that by base coating the sponsors they would freeze in place and are now immobile.

Whatever, not a big deal; however I would like to know two things before I construct another LeMan Russ. The first is, how can I base coat this part of the tank without it freezing into place and, secondly, the best way to return mobility on my already base coated model. (My current method of brute force has, as of yet, failed me, and I am beginning to suspect a more cunning approach is necessary)

Any feed back would be welcome.

Artfully yours,

The Dodger

I found brute force worked well with my LR. Perhaps just keep trying that? I've got no other ideas unfortunately.

Inside your mind, corrupting the pathways

If you are spraying them (or even if you are just painting with a brush), you can use masking tape to cover the joints so that the paint does not stick the parts together.

You can also spray/paint the bits before you assemble them.

You may also be spraying a bit too much paint on if it is sticking bits together so much that you can't work them free.

Also, they are "sponsons" not "sponsors"

Stripping your paint, may work, or chip away at the paint using an art knife

Next time basecoat it before you stick the sponson in

Agreed, all sponsons that I've painted I just wiggle and the paint eventually breaks the weapon free.
