I'm thinking of starting my first fantasy army and I would like to do either Lizardmen Or WoC, I've made several lists for both but don't know what to choose, I want my army to be entertaining but also reliable, any ideas on who I should pick?

Lizardmens are cooler IMO, having dinosaurs and all that.
As for reliable both armies fit the bill, both have strong magic and great core warriors WoC feature some nasty elite units while lizards have some snazzy monsters, they only differ in power when it comes to the shooting phase WoC have only one real shooting unit (Helcannon) while lizardmen are ripe with medium-short ranged shooting that is also poisoned to boot.

Yeah, the only real difference is the lack of shooting for WoC. Lizards get shooting and skirmishers.

That said, I'd advise you to pick the army whoose models you like the best and go with that.

I had to make the same decision and chose Lizards since WoC is bit too one dimentional for my taste.
Plus the Skinks are just so cute!

Lizardmen, we have Salamanders plus the fluff for Lizardmen is cooler. It's weird, my choice when I started was Lizardmen or Dwarfs so I don't fit into the Lizardmen vs WoC clan lol

On moon miranda.

Personally I like both armies, Lizardmen would probably be my 2nd favorite army, but I just love the visual of the big intimidating armored dudes and scary as hell characters of the Warriors of Chaos.

IRON WITHIN, IRON WITHOUT.

New Heavy Gear Log! Also...Grey Knights!
The correct pronunciation is Imperial Guard and Stormtroopers, "Astra Militarum" and "Tempestus Scions" are something you'll find at Hogwarts.

Salamanders and Chameleons are good units to get. Convert them to save some money. Skinks with a skink priest are nice too have if you want magic pre 1500 pts until you can get a geared Slann.

Thus, After having thus successively taken each member of the community in its powerful grasp and fashioned him at will, the supreme power then extends its arm over the whole community. It covers the surface of society with a network of small complicated rules, minute and uniform, through which the most original minds and the most energetic characters cannot penetrate, to rise above the crowd. The will of man is not shattered, but softened, bent, and guided; men are seldom forced by it to act, but they are constantly restrained from acting. Such a power does not destroy, but it prevents existence; it does not tyrannize, but it compresses, enervates, extinguishes, and stupefies a people, till each nation is reduced to nothing better than a flock of timid and industrious animals, of which the government is the shepherd

Skink Skirmishers are almost a must, blowpipes are stupidly useful.

I'd recommend buying a Slann when you hit 1,500+pts , but you don't have to go uber-magic if you don't want to. That said, Slann are pretty much able to bypass most of the problems in the magic system.

Lizardmen also have the Engine of the Gods, which got capped in some Oz tournaments at 1 for every whole 2,000 points in the list. Fortunately the % rules seem to balance out the abuse on them.

As for Characters, I like Kroak if you tag-team with another Slann, especially with is Laser eyes, Kroq-Gar is nice and meaty but its possible to build a slightly better version cheaper with Old Bloods, but without Hand Of Gods, which I think is not a one use only.

The Hero characters are somewhat nice, I personally like Chakkax for being the DUEL MASTER! I've had him smash Mannfred and 'caster vampires loads of times, and he's good for blocking assassinations on the Slann if you face that a bit, the downside is he costs 333 points. TikTaq'To is also nice, but costs a lot.

Also littlenibbler Orks aren't about armour saves.
Orks are about having too many models on the table, and wasting the other guy's time with your movement phase.
Orks are about having the toughest units on the table.
Orks are about not caring about how many bodies are left in a long winding trail until the squad is down to less than a third its starting strength.
Orks are about rolling more dice then you can count without the aid of a calculator or a pen and paper.
Orks are about having totally fething insane characters tearing gak down like Doc Grotsnik, Ghazghkull or Snikrot.
Orks are about being too fething awesome to die...

Personal experience, but mostly in odd situations, and mostly with the previous ruleset. I used to play lots of fun matches, but I don't take them as the primary Lords and Heroes in the army, just adding them for fun.

Except for Chakax, that guy is a bastard against Vampires.

If you have the money, I say do both. IMO, they're both really cool armies and their both worth checking out. Then again, that's just my opinion.

I like what HoverBoy said because dinosaurs make everything better!
