I've had enough of white dwarf, it isn't worth £4.50 anymore.

So, does anyone know of wargaming magzines that can be bought
in the uk or delivered?

Many thanks.

Yes.

Go to WH Smiths or your local newsagent or Asda, Morrisons or tescos mega huge store and find:

Wargames Illustrated.

They offer subscriptions.

Note that GW will rarely if ever feature, but that isnt a bad thing is it?

Agreed on Wargames Illustrated. Warhammer gets the odd release mention or has some models used for ads, but other than that, good old historical wargaming to the max.

I would totally do White Dwarf it is came with a few minis like when Assault on Black reach came out, but you are right, the price point is rediculous for information I can get online at no cost.

Used to be a time when you got cool free stuff almost every month with WH, but that was a long time ago, oh well.

I'll check that mag thx, if anyone has more suggestions do tell,
I don't mind if they won't print GW's stuff, just searchin' for wargaming mags that make for a good read.

A long time ago in a galaxy far, far, away...

Yeah, like a lot of folk here, I find the modern incarnation of White Dwarf to be too GW specific, bring back the days of readers armies, conversions and *whisper* non GW products... I find I'll pick up the latest copy and flick through, then put it back on the shelf. Rarely do I part with my cash.

Whilst Wagames Illustrated can be a good read from time to time, I find that it's overloaded with Flames of War articles since it's now owned by the Battlefront team. So no for me on a regular basis.

Used to read Wargames Miniatures, but the photos and articles weren't great and overall was generally the poor mans Wargames Illustrated - not sure what it's like now.

I did pick up a great magazine a while back and the back issues looked really good. Wargames Soldiers and Strategy I think it's called, not widely available as it's published in Spain but some of the larger WHSmiths occasionally stock it. Each magazine focuses on a specific era or battle with gaming, history and modelling articles... (can't find a website)

Personally, I know get most of my gaming fix from sites like Dakka Dakka, when I buy a magazine it tends to be SFX (they surprisingly had a full page article a couple of months ago dedicated to wistful memories of Rogue Trader!) or one of the military scale modelling mags for hints and tips...

Other than that there's a few less well known titles such as

http://www.battlegames.co.uk/

This ones quite cool though, with free PDF downloads
http://www.the-ancible.com/

I also used to download this, bbut think it's stopped the free issues now?

Might be worth having a butchers at Unseen Lerker. Only downside I can see is that they focus mainly on WHFB so if you're more into 40K it may not be for you.

You can get it from Maelstrom too.

I plan to start a WHFB army in future, so I'll look into it
thx Bastion.

Anything to do with wargaming guys, could be a magazine just about mantic's stuff, terrain building or flames of war I don't mind,
just lookin' for a decent read to do with my fave pass time.

Thx in advance.
