So I've haven't painted, played, or built anything in quite a few months because life has been so hectic. I saw the Bay Area Open and thought to myself, "What a better reason than a big tournament to get me back into my 'mojo' for Warhammer?" So after doing a bit of brainstorming and researching I finally settled on this army list. Still not finalized but have already gotten quite a few of the power armor models.
And without further adieu, here it goes! (note, I had a previous version of this but had to change it for points level)

HQ:

210-Wolflord-ThunderWolf, 2x Wolf Claws, Belt of Russ

Elite:

236-7x Wolfguard-Drop Pod
6x Wolfguard with bolt pistol and combi-plasma
1x Wolfguard terminator with Cyclone missile launcher (with long fangs 1)

210-5x Wolfguard-Drop Pod
3x Wolfguard with bolt pistol and combi-melta
1x Wolfguard Terminator with Cyclone missile launcher (with long fangs 2)
1x Wolfguard with Combi-melta and powerfist (with wolf scouts)

115-5x Wolf scouts- meltagun, 2x power weapons

Troops:

185-10x Grey Hunters- 2x flamers, powerfist, Rhino

190-10x Grey Hunters- 2x meltaguns, powerfist, Rhino

Fast Attack:

375-5x Thunderwolves
1x powerfist, stormshield
1x stormshield
1x stormshield, meltabomb
2x standard equipment

Heavy support:

140-6x Long fangs- 5x missile launcher

140-6x Long fangs- 5x missile launcher

Still working out how the overall army concept will work. Whether its an aggressive or passive army depends on other army.

Very rough draft, so any help would be apprreciated! Specific questions are the best and force me to think on the idea, so they are welcomed!

Thanks for looking!

Take Plasmas On the grey hunters,If you want to tool up ur HQ Change The wolf Lord to the uber set

Wolf Lord w/ Thunderwolf, PF, Storm Shield, Runic Armour, Saga of the Bear, two fenrisian wolves, Wolftooth Necklace
-275 pts

This Hero in a squad of thunderwolves is completely broken, he on charge has 6 s10 attacks that always hit on 3s, he has T5 2+ 3++ and is Eternal Warrior thats probly(apart from fortuned Eldrad Ulthran) one of the most survivable things in the game

The reason is is your current wolf lord is a crap Canis Wolfborn. Belt Of Russ is crap, Two wolf claws is bad, its expensive.

Get some points from somewhere and get your wolf guard in razors.

Down some of the unnecessary tooling on your dudes, honestly wolf guard with like combi meltas is stupid, its crap sternguard and you have long fangs, you don't need any more tankbusting.

BTW take 3 squads, and where are you buying the MLs from??

SCOUTS FTW you dont dis them

Your list lacks psychic protection and general leadership. Your Thunderwolf Lord is far too fragile without Saga of the Bear and a Storm Shield. If a Dreadnought catches him in combat he's going to die. You also have a general lack of scoring units for 1,850, and too many elites. I don't see the point of the podding Wolf Guard, especially since they cannot score and you cannot get both on the first turn.

Personally I'd ditch the Wolf Guard and use the points to pick up a couple of Rune Priests and small packs of Grey Hunters in Razorbacks. You could also strip some of them down to run as pack leaders for your Grey Hunters and Wolf Scouts. Usually though, the Terminator with CML attached to the Long Fangs isn't worth it. 63 points for two missile shots on a one-wound model aren't worth it when you can pay 65 and get a pack of three Long Fangs with two Missile Launchers and fire them at different targets. Take one Missile from each of the others and stick it on this new pack and you now have 12 missiles that can fire at 6 targets, rather than 12 missiles that can fire at 4.

Never have two Thunderwolves with the same equipment. Until one of them dies it will mess with your wound allocation. Either give one a Meltabomb, or drop one and use the points for something else.

This list has a lot of potential, but you need to trim a bunch of fat to get to the tough muscle underneath, then build that muscle with some stronger units.

I appreciate the quick feedback guys! So the general consensus seems to be my lord is poo, wolfguard loadout is useless and too few troops? the main issues I have with getting rid of these guys are termie heavy armies, land raider heavy armies, and other 2+ armor save baddies. What are some alternative to dealing with them?

I am definitely open to altering the list though, but I'd rather stay away from razors if possible, just don't like em.

Working on fixing the list now....

still open to more ideas =D
