Under weapons it states: Claws and Tail...

Can this be considered 2 cc weapons?

Cheers!

No. No, it really really really cannot ever in a million years count as 2 CCW

Mainly because it never states that "claw" is a single handed CCW, ditto for "tail"

It *can* be considered 2CCW, since you're using them in close combat - but you must also consider that any bonus attack conferred is already built into their profile.

So if you're wondering how they arrive at 3 attacks per wraith, its because they are getting extra attacks from claws and tails.

If you're wondering if you get to stack extra attacks onto their attacks because they *have* claws and tails.....nope.

Dash - they still wouldnt be single handed CCW, as they are not classified as such. Therefore definitely no extra attacks.

Bonus attacks for extra weapons are not built into the profile unless the unit entry actually says as much (the exception there being Ork Deff Dredds, where it's stated in the FAQ instead). Otherwise there would be any number of close combat-oriented units that would suddenly be a whole lot worse.

It's the same as flayed ones having claws and thus getting 2 attacks according to their profile. *Shrug* I get exactly what dash is saying and I don't see why anyone argues what he stated, as he's not wrong. Wraiths get three attacks because of what they use in CC (1 base, 1 for two claws, 1 for tail). It may not be listed as a "close combat weapon" in the traditional sense but it's merely an explanation of why they have as many attacks as they do, it doesn't confer any bonus above and beyond their profile (unlike pistol weapons, as a for instance).

There's a significant semantic difference which matters when looking at the rules for OTHER units, so you don't get confused.

It's worth keeping our terminology and rationales straight for consistency and so we reduce the general incidence of error.

Well if you're trying to compare a third edition codex to fifth edition codex (in terms of wording and semantics) then you're already failing.
