Piercing the heavens

Back in 2009 the rights to my favourite franchise, the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, were sold to Nickelodeon. Now there's a first video that shows the new designs and teases the new CG-series sceduled for 2012.

Why did they have to change the weapons? It just bugs me that now every Turtle wields a blade. Apart from that, I'll remain skeptical. Turtles Forever was the best thing that ever happend to the franchise and I'm not sure another reboot is the right way to go.

It is especially odd that they went with all those blades knowing that they will never actually stab or slash anyone, considering it will be on Nickelodeon.

Amidst the mists and coldest frosts he thrusts his fists against the posts and still insists he sees the ghosts.

I"MA CUT U GOOD BOY!

I wanna see bebop and rocksteady.

And whilst you're pointing and shouting at the boogeyman in the corner, you're missing the burglar coming in through the window.

Well, Duh! Because they had a giant Mining ship. If you had a giant mining ship you would drill holes in everything too, before you'd destory it with a black hole

I was always a fan of Raphael, he was cool.

Also, it appears they didn't have to change his weapon for this, which is a good thing.

Did Donatello get an 'upgrade' as well? From what I see (although I could be looking at the wrong places), he's still got the staff.

Donny's got a Glaive, not a staff. It has a blade on the end now

I have vague memories that the first live action film wasn't all that bad, but I haven't watched it for ages.

Mesopotamia. The Kingdom Where we Secretly Reign.

The first live action TMNT movie is one of my all time favorites.

To be honest, since about 1994 I sort of lost track of the franchise though I still have a soft spot for it. If nothing else, this thread has reminded me to watch a movie that I love.

Isn't this like the 4th reboot of these guys?

I'm not like them, but I can pretend.

5th, I think(unless the CGI movie is a different continuity from the 2000's toon, in which case 6th).

1. 80's Cartoon
2. Live action Movies
3. Live action TV Show
4. 2000's Cartoon

I think the CGI-cartoon is in the same continuity as the live action movies.
