The weakness will be that you only get ten of them in a 2000pt army.

Or something

Points cost. A tooled up squad of Terminators comes close to 700pts, have 5++ saves (4++ in CC), and get ID'd by S8 AP2 guns just as easily as normal Terminators.

They'd damn well better be good with those disadvantages.

Devestating Grey Knight Dreadknight

Their weakness is in the horribly silly looking dreadknight model. Even after losing to a GK player you will win a moral victory as you mock your opponent for playing with Transformers.

they sound invincible though, like every other basic tropp choice wont stand a chance. is that the case and if so, is it fair?

Runnin up on ya.

Just treat them like any other MEQ; they've got some different toys but they might actually be a bit easier to beat with my Tau if I can stay out of CC. Plasma rifle spams.

Six mistakes mankind keeps making century after century: Believing that personal gain is made by crushing others; Worrying about things that cannot be changed or corrected; Insisting that a thing is impossible because we cannot accomplish it; Refusing to set aside trivial preferences; Neglecting development and refinement of the mind; Attempting to compel others to believe and live as we do

No, why do you think that base troop choice wouldn't stand a chance?

take Thousand Sons space marine, they are AP3 so they pierce through the PAGK armor

Terminator cost 200 point, you can throw something of that worth into it

you will probably march more people than them at any rate
they are not "Invincible"

So far

Give me a orc boy horde and I'll munch their terminators up...Terminators even "tooled" up Grey Knight ones will fail to a large number of attacks.

Probably work

I wouldn't sweat them until you run into them. Even then, since every army list gears up for Space Marines, being a little over-the-top is countered by the fact that you're expecting them coming, right?

It too early to tell right now to see the flaw in the Codex, or the advantage.

The models are very very expensive, and that fact alone may deter some from starting them, but I think it will end up like every GW release.

-New codex!
-Internet Whines
-Details about new codex
-More whining!
-Army is released and most players adapt
-Everyone jumps on the bandwagon
-90% of those people fall off said band wagon
-Rinse and repeat

Sihamoni takes great pride in the league he helped create, as was conveyed in his recent advertising campaign for the CMFL that stated his midgets will "... take on anything; man, beast, or machine."

Feasting on the souls of unworthy opponents

If you'll visit the Tactics or General Discussion forums, there are a dozen threads about this for you to read through.

Part of it is the hype factor. Taken at face value, every army release (or re-release) is a super broken, unbeatable force, capable of crushing whatever their opponents may put on the table. That's the idea, to get you (or the prospective/potential GK player in this case) drooling over their future victories, and ultimately start/ expand/ resurrect a GK army. No worries friend.

Indeed.

Also if a thread is quite game specific -- say it's about a certain army in 40K, then could users please post in the appropriate "general" board. Much obliged.

Seeing as we have, surprise surprise, several threads on the 40k boards concerning this topic already, we'll lock this and people can use the ones there, or as/when they die or aren't relevant can start one up as needs be.
