Combine the rat ogres into a single unit, upgrade one to a master bred rat. Swap shock prod for great weapon.

I like swords more than spears on my clan rats, but YMMV.
Drop most/all of the claw leaders, and swap out the sword of might for a doom rocket.
Get your BSB a ward save of some sort, and a shield.
Your general could use a little more protection too.
Assassins are fun, but not very good; gutter runners will do the same job for less points (hunt warmachines).

The Plague monks are a lot better when you have a furnace, which is what I would add to bring this list to 2,000 points.

If you like the HPA fit one in at 1,500, 2 at 2,000 if you want. At 1,500 I would also try and add a Warp Lightning Cannon they are pretty effective.

ok, so ive been told that plague monks and plague furnaces are nice, so my 800 pt army is made up of 40 clanrats, with 2 plague mortars, 1 cheiftan as bsb and a plague priest as hq, with the rest made up of plague monks. anything else needed there? possibly a monster or summit? help would be great.
for the 2000 pt army:
same as b4, but with a plague furnace, all the suggested changes and possibly a few HPA's and more plague monks iff thats possible to fit in. if not, ill lose the rat ogres to do it.

They are nice but the problem is you are looking at 250pts for a non equipped level 1 Plague Priest, so you bump him to level 2 since a level 2 caster is pretty mandatory at 1,500 for the +2 to dispel, and you give him a ward save and you're looking at 300+pts, leaving 75pts for a BSB which will get you a pretty stripped down BSB with almost no magic defense items. I would not look into fitting one in until at least 2k.

As for the WLC, it's made for everything. Fires like a cannon except uses a small template at the end of the "bounce" that has a strength of whatever the artillery dice roll was for the "bounce" so it could be strength 2 or it could be strength 10. If someone has a hydra or another monster it's great, and if you fire it into an elite unit it will do some damage. And it's cheap 90pts, even if it misfires ohhh well.

EDIT. Also each unsaved wound becomes D6 wounds.
