So its about that time that I need to get a tau battleforce
I have found a greatly reduced Tau Battleforce on Ebay but it is the 3rd edition one. It contains:
12 firewarriors
12 kroot
3 crisis suits
10 gun drones
This is in opposition to the 4th edition battleforce, which consisits of:
12 firewarriors
12 kroot
1 crisis suit
3 stealth suits
1 devilfish
So do you guys think I should get the 3rd edition one, or buy a 4th edition one? The difference in price between the two is less than $5. For me it comes down to are 3 crisis suits>1 suit+1 devilfish.

You might as well get both, if they are both discounted than it's a great deal. The normal 4th tau box is worth $160 USD, while that 3rd should be worth... $161.75 USD. (using direct from GW website prices)

I can't afford both. Its one or none in this case.

Quite a difficult choice, the current battleforce is one of the best but the 3rd ed one looks good too.
I would go for the 3rd edition battleforce. More of the models are good while the current one has a few less useful models.
Personally 3 crisis suits beats 1 suit and 1 Dfish. All the models are core units but I think crisis suits are a must have for any tau army.
Also the 3rd ed is a one off. The current one will be for sale if you ever decide you want to buy another.

I preferred the 3rd ed one. Stealth suits are bad imo. They compete with crisis suits for the same slot & are just lack luster for the points.

How did you get that number? It says $90 USD when I go on there.
You're going to really need crisis suits and the devilfish, so pick your poison.

He means if you bought every piece individually.
You can get the 4th ed ones anywhere, so pick up the 3rd ed one while you still can.

3rd ed is superior imo. 3 suits is always better than a devilfish (at least for me) and you will never find a better deal (and suits are very important for Tau armies).

Word of advice for future bids: Bid at the last moment (like, 5-10 seconds before it ends). This way your opponents cant adjust their max bids to exceed yours by a dollar.

Yeah I know. I actually did this really stupidly. It had a bid price of $35 and a buy now price of $70. I didn't realize when you made a bid it got rid of the buy now option. I'm regretting not buying now
