Subject: Eldar spin offs from current craftworld?

Storming Storm Guardian

Hey all i was thinking and after writing up many lists, i noticed that although i havea mixture of units all the time, i think my lists always seem to be close to Ulthwe. Well i was wandering if it would be ok (dont know if people do it or not) if i used my new created craftworld to be a spin off Ulthwe (like angels encarmine is to Blood angels etc so like a successor chapter)
Is this possible in the Eldar race as im confused slightly on how the systems work a bit.
Thanks

Sure. It could be an outpost or other such closely related craftworld.

And that way i could include different aspects from each craftworld, so for instance i could use many apsects (biel-tann), jetbikes and fast vehicles (saim hann) and a wraithlord or 2... or 3(iyanden) and lots of guardians (ulthwee)
OVerall most lists have a squad of 20 guardians and a farseer - and mostly a squad of storm guardians too, all the rest support them, so would all this fit fluff wise?

If you wanted to include elements of lots of different craftworlds, why not make your own unique craftworld (unless of course you want to be associated with one particular "known" craftworld). There are plenty of minor (and possibly even larger) craftworlds out there which are not reported in the fluff. Of course, if you wanted to associate with one particular craftworld and keep your own mix of troops, that would be fine. Perhaps they are established trading partners, or originally come from worlds/systems that were close to each other in the Eldar sphere of space and so share certain cultraul and aesthetic qualities.

Well maybe i could do it as they are near the eye of terror like Ulthwe, but like you said are known traders and communicate with all the other craftworlds, and because of this they have aspects from each craftworld. That way by having apect warriors, jetbikes etc it wouldnt just seem like a bundle of ideas in a pot, but rather a flowing story.
What ya all think? If i can make the fluff for it, think it will work?

Ok here are the main points of how they gonna work, let me know what ya think:
- Use guardians and psykers
- use aspects more often then ulthwe - all aspects are seen as a support role for the guardians, rather then the other way around
- wraith units are called upon for large scale/.imporant battles
- jetbikes and rangers are used for quick decisive skirmeshes which sending guardians would be too valuable
Fluff wise will be something like this:
- was a strikeforce consisting of many guardians and a small seer council - used the webway - found a new planet which used purely webway energy
- ulthwe found out about this place, and asked the founders to set up a homeworld there - for new eldar minds to teach them the new ways so not grant slaanesh more power
- Ulthwe plan to rest their one day, but until then remain as they are
- they trade with other craftworlds - in favour of aspect shrines, their own infinity circuit - for wariths units etc
- because there location relies heavily on the webway, are very close with harlies
- come to realise that the planet is actually within the webway - and so gives them close link with harlequins
What ya all think of these thoughts? do you think they are doable? lol

Sneaky Striking Scorpion

i would have thought it was a stike force that got lost in the webway or left behind rather than being told where to go.
that way it makes it more realistic and there are more options on how the army is based

I don't really see how your idea is differant than any other craftworld? You're wanting a craftworld with a mix of differant things but they're things almost every craftworld either already has or can have. Just because Ulthwe is known for its psykers that dosen't mean it dosen't have Jetbikes, just because Saim Hann is known for Jetbikes dosen't mean they don't have wraith constructs and just because Iyanden is known for Wraith Constructs dosen't mean they don't have psykers.
The main Craftworlds may be known for or specialise in a certain aspect but that dosen't mean that they don't have anything else but that. So by saying you're craftworld has all these differant things to me you're pretty much just saying you have a normal craftworld. Does that make sense?
