I need to make a ton of wheels, and using greenstuff wouldnt be practical, but I have never used any other modeling material, can someone recommend some common ones that work well and wont stick to the mold, and mabye available commonly at places like lowes or are pretty common at any hobby store?

There's brown stuff that's made to hold detail a bit better. You can find it at most hobby stores. I think Milliput is the brand name.

Check out my Youtube channel!

Brown stuff and Milliput are two distinct modelling materials, in the UK at least.

Kneadatite have:
Green Stuff
Brown Stuff and
Grey/Silver Stuff.

Its the same type of combo-epoxy if not Kneadatite brand.

Milliput is just Milliput (TM)

But yeah, brown stuff holds a nice edge.
