SoCal Slaughter in Space 3 is comming up. The event is scheduled to occur on Memorial Day Weekend (May 28th and 29th) and lists are due two weeks prior (email to SIS@SCGWL.COM) to the event, as the first two round pairings will be done by judge based comp (these scores do not impact anything other than the first two pairings). Codex Grey Knights will be permitted, but Daemon Hunter Allies may not be taken by anyone. Witch Hunter allies are still legal for the armies that have access to them.

This is a 2 day event with five games. We have some more ironing out to do, but the game packet can be downloaded here.

Cost of admission is $60 plus a $5 paypal handling charge. To register, click the Paypal link on the webpage or paypal us at treasurer@scgwl.com with the fee. Like prior events, the Throne of Skulls invites will be handed out to the Best Overall and Best General winners. The event is going to occur at the Gamex 2011 Convention at the Sheraton Gateway Hotel, near LAX. The cost of the GT includes a full weekend convention pass, as well, so the real hardcore gamers can hit up some boardgame and card game action later in the evening.

The Format is our usual 200 point system, including our Painting Rubric for those who are interested. Any questions or concerns should be directed to the Tournament Organizer at Scott.Tiveron@gmail.com for his review. I can answer some questions, but he and Toby Walker (of GMI Games) are the final authority on the rules.

Finally, for those who are not 40k players, we will also be running a Fantasy Team Tournament on Saturday and a Bloodbowl Tournament on Sunday. Open Gaming should be available on Friday and Saturday evening. Ideally, we will not be pigpacked into the same room that the Broadside Bash was crammed into.

I was wondering when you were going to get around to posting the details.

I hope you are not crammed into the same room that the Broadside Bash was. I stopped by for a little while and I was glad that I did not play in it if I had to go through that for a weekend. The noise alone in that room was unbearable.

We are pushing to be down in the lower lobby area near the registration desk, but it depends on what the con guys want. Scott and I are both gunning for that area because of the increased foot traffic exposure and the easy access to the bar.

Looking forward to this event! Always a good tournament and I am sure this year will be more of the same.

I had a really good time at the last one. And my schedule permitting, I'll certainly be attending this one.

The elevators in that hotel are treacherous though... I feel like I'm on the tower of terror ride when I get in them. Go for bottom floor

Feel free to PM me to talk about your list ideas....

So you have to be 16 and over to join and must have a parent or guardian if your 18 and under. But do they need to be with you at all times?

The age clause is there as an out for us, really. If we are down in the lobby area like we want, the parents can be floating around. We just don't want to have to deal with some immature 16 year old throwing a temper tantrum and making the thing crappy for everyone else. Its essentially some CYA.

@Shep: Yeah we are really going to push for bottom floor for a number or reasons. Lugging our 4x8 toppers up the elevators being one, and the air flow being another. We figure we can fit 60+ people down there very comfortably without pissing off the fire marshal. Its really a question of whether the smaller one table miniature events are willing to relocate for us.
