I think, from what I've seen, that Stéphane Camosseto tends to completely sculpt a fairly bland 'master' for want of a better word before detailing it with the wear etc that would tell a story

so probably not worth discounting Eadric yet as he might come alive as further work is done

Yeah, I'm REALLY liking Broga. That says a lot for me to deviate from my reptiles to start sampling into the more mammal- heavy factions.

I'll have to check which factions the Angelcynn can ally with so I can legitimately use him in a game. Maybe the Brythoniaid are willing to give him a go as long as he's a God- fearing Christian pig man?

I'm really exited about almost all of the Mierce stuff, but both Broga and Scecchus stand out as amazing looking minis.
The only one I don't care for at the moment based on the artwork is Sáthach, and I hope I don't have to explain why.

Because "in the grim darkness of the distant past, there shouldn't be boobies?"

Cmon, we've got the Melusines and monsters with their junk on display all over the shop, if you've got a problem with Sáthach that isn't how the mounted version is sat on her horse (private joke, don't worry) you probably shouldn't look too hard at some of the other models on sale....

I have no problem with tits on display (or cocks, wangs, arses, or any other part of the anatomy that prudes may be squeamish about). Torku is disturbingly wonderful, and who couldn't love Druc? I just have no time for the "hehe, corr, in't she dirty, bet you'd like to do her, right" style of juvenile miniatures. That goes for the laughably stupid melusines as well.

Well, I guess everyone has their own line, but Mierce do seem to have a good blend of more athletic women through to the slightly oddly proportioned, and at least they do have a good number of female models that are an integral part of units, rather than "hurr boobies" tacked on models, or stuff like the Raging Heroes nonsense.

Entirely personal I guess.

Hard to choose, but I think the one I'm the most impressed with is Scecchus. It's a simple and brutally elegant design without needless bling or busyness going on, but doesn't look under-detailed in the least.

"The 75mm gun is firing. The 37mm gun is firing, but is traversed round the wrong way. The Browning is jammed. I am saying "Driver, advance." and the driver, who can't hear me, is reversing. And as I look over the top of the turret and see twelve enemy tanks fifty yards away, someone hands me a cheese sandwich."

I rather like Sáthach, and I have faith that Mierce will make a fantastic miniature out of her.

The only things that didn't click for me this time around were about half of the Albainn stuff.

But again, I reserve the right to change my mind once we see actual sculpts!

Update #67

May 9 2014
Not Much to See, But Have a Look anyway!

Friday does seem to come along quicker than ever, but that's no bad thing as we're sure you'll all agree!

This week we have

sculpt work in progress updates from Olivier Bouchet, Roberto Chaudon and Stéphane Simon;
images of new paintjobs by Martin Grandbarbe;
updated lists of sculptors and sculpts;
current Kindred Musters;
what miniatures we believe will be sent in Wave 1;
what you can expect from us over the next few months.

More of the same, but slightly different, basically!
Xontór, Gorgon of Khthon

It's all Khthones this week and we begin with Xontór. Stéphane Simon's cracking on with things!

Such is Stéphane's speed that we think Xontór will be finished in time for a Wave 1 shipment, which is awesome news!
Thelliatiss, Gorgórix

Olivier Bouchet has begun work on our Gorgórix from the artwork by Beth Hughes. It's early days yet but Thelliatiss is certainly taking shape!

With Olivier being pretty speedy, we do think Thelliatiss will be a Wave 1 shipment.
Myrkranio, Bone Warrior

Talking of speed, Roberto Chaudon has again astounded us with how quick he's getting these Sávrar commanders sculpted... Myrkranio's almost done!

It's very likely that Myrkranio will make it into Wave 1 of course.
Painted Jowan and Hounds of Carn Dhu

Fresh from his awesome work on our Bow-Drunes, Martin Grandbarbe has been beavering away at more Ysians and the results, we think, are absolutely stunning.

Painted Goaders of Ys, Goad-Drune Unit

Martin has worked wonders on the Goaders too, they look superb!

Next up for Martin will be Dungann, and then he'll begin painting the Angelcynn infantry... which we're really looking forward to, we have to say!
Darklands: First Edition Fulfilment

At this stage - early May - we have a fairly good idea of what will and what won't make it into your Wave 1 shipments, and whilst we have planned for delays, there are always some circumstances that ensure delays are unavoidable.

To maximise the length of time between now and Wave 1, and thus get more miniatures sculpted and cast, we're going to start shipping Wave 1 in the last week of June. Bear in mind, then, that shipments will continue into July and probably August, and as always we will prioritise orders in date order - i.e., if you ordered early, you'll get your stuff sent early!

What Ships When?

Here's an up to date list of what we think will be shipped when. Note that this list could change, but we'll keep it updated every Friday.

Items in bold will DEFINITELY be sent in that wave as we have the sculpt; items in italics should make it into that wave, but we don't yet have the sculpt.

SHIPMENT WAVE 0: complete for this project.
SHIPMENT WAVE 1 (beginning June): Dúngal on foot - Dúngal on pony - Ciniod - Itaina - Domnech - Bagseg - Eadric on foot - Leofwen on foot - Broga - Urien on foot - Angedern - Mag ap Mag - Ieuan Longshore and Taranau - Erebius - Mananaan on foot - Idruaada - Daarkan - Naraa - Gaarwäg - Scecchus - Xontór - Thelliatiss - Dawn of Khthon (Myrinna - Syntyss - Thillia - Phyllidii - Elthissi) - Thoth - Hanokh - Ágriosávra- Eikovra - Myrkranio - Knútr on foot - Knútr on horse - Birna - Víthar - Rollo Iron Head - Jörmungand - Crom on foot - Crom on horse - Annik - Zethag - Gondard (Gondard - Ekk) - Brugg - Uhtred Uhtredson - Finnan - Danilo Cruz
SHIPMENT WAVE 2 (beginning August): Eadric on horse - Timoth - Aldhelm - Hrōr - Urien on horse - Carys - Caedoc - Ffion Ferddig - Equitus Durio on foot - Equitus Durio on horse - Agathae - Velchior - Djiuzu - Con I Modius - Mananaan on horse - Baagath's Herd - Praach - Hrafnen Crew - Mälmord - Seza
SHIPMENT WAVE 3 (beginning October): Cnebba - Gesith Unit - Trytheorn - Rick Boer's Frisian Warrior - Max Schüte's German Berserker

Have I ordered the right Waves?

Fairly obviously (and to remind you all that we won't split orders unless you've purchased more than one shipment wave) if you've only purchased one Shipment Wave item, your items will only be sent in one shipment when everything is ready. In a nutshell:

If you have purchased Waves 1, 2 and 3, whatever is available will be shipped in each wave, with wave 3 waiting until everything's finally ready.
If you have purchased Waves 1 and 2, whatever is available in Wave 1 will be shipped in June, with everything else waiting until everything's finally ready.
If you've only purchased Wave 1, your orders will be shipped when everything's finally ready.

There's still time for you to change this by ordering more shipment waves of course - feel free to do so, but as soon as Wave 1 is complete, that shipment item will be removed from the webstore. so you'd best be quick!

Please be patient!

We would ask you all to be patient with both ourselves and our artists; sculptors live in the real world and real world problems often impinge upon their time, so please bear in mind that they are working as fast as they possibly can on our miniatures and giving us their full attention. We do not want to rush sculptors for the simple reason that rushed work is often poor work!
Danilo Cruz has been added!

Many of you will have seen that we've now added Danilo Cruz to your orders. This is because you originally pledged for more than £150 during the project, and didn't pledge for (or purchase later) "THE SWEET SPOT", "DARKLANDS, UHTRED & NOBLES" or "YOU'RE THEIR DESCENDANT".

If you believe you're entitled to Danilo and he's not in your list of orders, please let us know and we'll fix it!

Of course, if you pledged for "THE SWEET SPOT", "DARKLANDS, UHTRED & NOBLES" or "YOU'RE THEIR DESCENDANT", you can find Danilo Cruz listed in its contents, so have no fear - he'll be sent to you regardless.
Sculpts and Sculptors

Here's the big list of who's sculpting what and when for Darklands: First Edition! Please bear in mind that this list may change over time, so don't take it as set in stone until the first work in progress shots appear.

Olivier Bouchet: Olivier Bouchet has begun work on Thelliatiss.
Stéphane Camosseto: Stéphane has begun work on Eadric on foot and he will sculpt Eadric on horse after that. He has also now taken on Hrōr, so that he matches the Werwulfas unlocked as part of Darklands: First Edition II.
Allan Carrasco: Next up for Allan is Knútr on Horse and Cnebba.
Roberto Chaudon: Eikovra is complete and work on Myrkranio has begun. He will be followed by Mag ap Mag, Mälmord and finally Djiuzu, in that order.
Benoît Cosse: Benoît is still working on Darklands: a World of War miniatures and won't start Finnan, Praach and Baagath's Herd for a while yet.
Thomas David: work on Timoth has begun, but we only have an armature so there's not a great deal to see.
Pedro Fernández Ramos: He'll soon begin work on Mananaan on horse.
Jacques-Alexandre Gillois: work has begun on Daarkan and Naraa and he will sculpt both Equitus Durio on foot and Equitus Durio on horse afterward.
Christian Hardy: Christian will begin work on Aldhelm (taken from Maxime Penaud), Velchior and Agathae soon.
Tre Manor: Tre of Red Box Games fame is currently sculpting Erebius, which should be completed fairly soon.
Patrick Masson: It's Gaarwäg for Patrick next, which should start soon.
Hector Moran: he will be digitally sculpting Con I Modius, Legionary Contubernium in the near future.
Stéphane NGuyen: Stéphane should begin work on Seza soon, but we're not sure when right now.
Juan Navarro Pérez:Urien on horse, Carys, Caedoc and Ffion Ferddig will be sculpted soon. Juan has also agreed to sculpt Tomas Johansson's Geat Warrior, Trytheorn, although he's not sure when that will occur.
Stéphane Simon: Xontór is underway and after him he'll have Crom on horse, the Holumenn Unit and the Gesíth Unit to do. He's getting there!
Unknown: the remaining two descendants, which are Rick Boer's Frisian Warrior (due to be drawn by Stefan Kopinski) and Maximilian Schüte's Germanic Berserker.

Now that is a lot of sculpts...
Completed Sculpts

We thought this would be a good idea, as things are cracking on - a list of completed sculpts, in kindred order! Completed sculpts are in bold; in progress sculpts are in italics.

Let us know if we've missed anything!
The Darklands First Edition Rules

Now, before we get onto the next project, a word on the Darklands: First Edition hardback rulebook.

We've decided to put back the printing of the rulebook to November.

There's a number of good reasons for doing this, but the main reason is simply so that we can include extra stuff - and so increase the value of what you're getting!

This extra stuff will include whatever we need for the miniatures produced by Darklands: First Edition II (such as muster summaries, or perhaps new rules to cover the abilities of new creatures where required), more background material, more colour artwork... whatever we can fit in really.

Please note, the printing delay will NOT affect the delivery of:

miniatures slated for delivery in Wave 1
miniatures tied to the book itself (such as Uhtred or Finnan)
the rules themselves - we'll still give you the full rules in June as a PDF download, although perhaps not with as pretty pictures

We'll also ship the rulebook to you when it's available without tying it to a Wave - it's only fair to do so!

Now, we're aware a lot of you guys and gals out there were very keen to get your hands on the book when - let's face it - we said we'd deliver it; but we hope you understand that we simply want to make that book better for you.
The Darklands Concept Art Book

Similarly, we're going to delay the printing of the Darklands Concept Art book.

The main reason for this is very simple - we want to add as much art as we can to it, so we're going to include all the art seen in Darklands: First Edition II. Again, we understand that you guys would want the book in June; but we just want to give you more for the same amount of money!
QuickStarter Rules, Muster Rules and Kindred Musters

Here's some info on how Darklands is looking...

The latest version of the QuickStarter Rules - v10.5 - is the FINAL version before printing.

You can download them here: DARKLANDS QUICKSTARTER RULES v10.5

There are many minor changes from previous versions, so we would recommend - especially if you are familiar with those previous versions of the QuickStarter Rules - to have a good read through, and also please check out the Mierce Miniatures forum, in particular the "Darklands Rules Discussion" section and the "Observations from a first read" thread...

Printing the QuickStarter Rules

We have excellent news: the QuickStarter Rules are about ready for print and will be shipped off to our printers soon.

The new, updated Muster Rules are now available for download.

You can download them here: DARKLANDS MUSTER RULES v2.3

They include the most recent, updated rules regarding hosts, units and warriors as listed in the QuickStarter Rulebook. The Muster Rules will not be printed, please remember; they will, however, always be available for download and will always be living rules.

At some point I'll get around to putting links up on our website...!

A Kindred Muster, what we call an army list, gives you the blocks to build a host of a particular kindred for Darklands. It includes all of the different unit types available to you as a general wishing to create an army, in the shape of warrior profiles.

The kindred musters given below now include all of the warriors unlocked by Darklands: First Edition and Darklands: First Edition II, so you can check exactly what you're getting for your money in game terms.

Bear in mind, however, that any new profiles are only partially playtested (if at all) - expect changes and feel free to give us feedback on the Mierce forums. Check them out for some awesome new warriors, however!

ALBAINN MUSTER v1.6
ANGELCYNN MUSTER v1.11
BRYTHONIAID MUSTER v1.7
BYZANTII MUSTER v1.2
FOMORAIC MUSTER v1.9
INFERNII MUSTER v1.1
KHTHONES MUSTER v1.5
NORSE MUSTER v1.6
VRAS MUSTER v1.5
YSIAN MUSTER v1.8
SELL-SWORD MUSTER v1.4

Muster Links in bold include warriors from this project.

No doubt there'll be a few errors or typos - feel free to tell us about them!

Upon each profile is a handy pronunciation guide (based on the Wikipedia Pronunciation Respelling Key) under the warrior's title and, at the bottom of each profile, a suggestion on which miniature from our range to use as that warrior on the battlefield.

...and that's it for this update! More next week...

Amazingly, we've more sculpts to show you this week, and it's only been two weeks since the project ended! As well as that, we have some new artwork from Danny Cruz and how fulfilment's looking, although it's early days yet of course.
Sáthach, Ríonfénnid

Well, that didn't take long: Yannick Hennebo has already begun sculpting our awesome Érainn sell-sword, Sáthach!

We think it's safe to say that Sáthach should be a Wave 4 shipment...
Quintus Crito, Optio

Danny Cruz has been working hard to get the last remaining pieces of art done for some of the later stretch goals, but the wait is definitely worth it!

Rēoc's Pack, Frēawulf Unit

As well as Quintus, Danny's now completed work on Rēoc's mates Brega and Hædo!

Brega

Hædo
Darklands: First Edition II Fulfilment

There's not much to tell here of course, as it's very early days; but we can tell you that we plan to start shipping Wave 0 orders in May, once we are paid by Kickstarter themselves. Based on the orders currently received, and our manufacturing schedule (not least Wave 1) we think Wave 0 will carry on into June and possibly July.

As always, we will treat all orders on a first come, first served basis, so if you placed your Wave 0 order early, you'll get it early!
Sculpts and Sculptors

Here's the big list of who's sculpting what and when for Darklands: First Edition II. Please bear in mind that this list may change over time, so don't take it as set in stone until the first work in progress shots appear.

Olivier Bouchet: along with the alterations to Gromi, Olivier will also be sculpting the Oghu Guardians, Oghur Unit and the Abhorrents of Ys, Abhorrent Unit.
Stéphane Camosseto: Stéphane has taken on Eoric's Pack, Werwulf Unit as well as Armoured Hrōr for us.
Allan Carrasco: Allan will be sculpting Ravener Birna and Thórrir.
Roberto Chaudon: Thanks to Roberto being so awesome, we've loaded him up with the Craven Fiends of Dis, Fiend Unit, the Corpse Takers, Hrafnmann Unit, Enslaved Ágriosávra, Khallas, Parawn and Hrókr.
Benoît Cosse: we've given Benoît the remainder of the Slaughterers, Krokodar Unit, Brunchaath on Gooracx, Srók, and lots of alternates - Kill-Head Flint-Fang, Marked Galagaak, Young Magágg, Umaer Drast, Skyclad Itaina and Skyclad Ciniod. The Alternates look scary but really are not - they can be done very quickly!
Yannick Fusier: thanks to his awesome work on Bagseg, we've given Yannick the Oghu Keepers, Oghurithne Unit - and he's already begun work on them!
Jacques-Alexandre Gillois: Jacques has just Helmed Naraa from this project to do!
Christian Hardy: Christian will have just Feral Agathae to sculpt.
Yannick Hennebo: we have great pleasure in announcing that the world-famous Yannick Hennebo will be sculpting Sáthach for us!
Patrick Masson: Patrick will be sculpting Uhtred on Horse, to match his foot version.
Hector Moran: excitingly, Hector will be digitally sculpting In III Judas, Demilegionary Incaendium and Quintus Crito.
Stéphane NGuyen: Stéphane will sculpt Akkaz and Tykho!
Olivier Nkweti: Olivier will be digitally sculpting The Eye Ascendant, Warriors of Baalor Unit, the Loyal Guard, Teulu unit, the Warriors of Dyngonwy, Rhyfelwyr Unit, and the Spears of Dun Durn, Gairlom Unit. Four units for Olivier, but such is his work rate and professionalism, we think that's no trouble for him.
Juan Navarro Pérez: Juan will be sculpting the alternates Tonsured Caedoc and Forwyn Carys from this project.
Stéphane Simon: the Shadows of Carn Bran, Shadow-Drune Unit and Ax-Crom are the sum of Stéphane's work for this project.
Andrew Speirs: one of our regular backers and a good friend, Andrew will be converting the Trolls to become Armoured Trolls, and work has already begun on them.
Ernst Veingart: the sculptor of Mjagnir, Ernst is now sculpting a "miniature" that will dwarf the Jötunn - Gomagg, the Albainn Giant!
Valentin Zak: unfortunately Valentin only has time to sculpt one miniature for us from this project, and he'll be sculpting Cæna.
Unknown: we don't yet have sculptors confirmed for Sweordsman Timoth, Rēoc's Pack, Geraint on Ceffyldraig and Max Schüte's second Descendant, but we hope to confirm them soon.

Now that is a lot of sculpts...
Completed Sculpts

We thought this would be a good idea, as things are cracking on - a list of completed sculpts, in kindred order! Completed sculpts are in bold; in progress sculpts are in italics.

ALBAINN: Oghu Guardians - Skyclad Ciniod - Oghu Keepers (Brugbad - Dungabad - Lobeg - Bogad - Rubeg) - Skyclad Itaina - Spears of Dun Durn - Umaer Drast - Gromi (Gromi - Gromi with two cleavers - Armoured Gromi with two cleavers) - Young Magágg - Gomagg
ANGELCYNN: Armoured Hrōr - Eoric's Pack - Sweordsman Timoth - Cæna - Rēoc's Pack
BRYTHONIAID: Geraint on Ceffyldraig - Loyal Guard - Tonsured Caedoc - Warriors of Dyngonwy - Forwyn Carys - Parawn

DESCENDANTS: Max Schüte's second Descendant

Khthon updates are the best updates.

Xontór is starting to tempt me more and more, especially with the lure of a bonus Agriosavra. Having Ophius all painted up, it'd be nice for him to have a buddy to hang out with and check out the snake chicks with.

I'm surprised they're doing the Gorgórix as a traditional sculpt. I would have thought they'd have the same digital sculptor who did the Dawn of Khthon models, since he could probably reuse a lot of the work he had done for texturing, etc..

I think a more aggressive/battle pose would also go a long way on her. Itaina as well, an amazing badass mini with a kind of static pose. The art makes Sáthach look more clean/neat than most of the others. Like a Star Trek ship in a Star Wars universe, everyone else's gear/clothing looks a little more worn down and lived in.

While Xontor is looking great thus far, I am equally disappoitned by Olivier Bouchet Gorgorix. The positive thing is that it is yet only a very early wip, so I hope that it can be shaped up as it progress.

I just wanted to pop in to say that the version of Erebius which has been pictured here thus far has been scrapped. There was a mishap in the baking process that damaged too much of the figure to salvage it so I have started over.

The figure is finished now and I will be shipping to Mierce HQ upon their approval after finishing the swords. I am very very sorry for the delay on this figure and wanted everyone to know it is entirely my own fault. Tim at Mierce has been incredibly patient and forgiving with me and I cannot apologize enough for the difficulty my lateness has put him to in the fulfillment of this figure. Anyway I would post the pictures myself but I think that is best left to them to do.

All I have to say on the Erebius rework is that it is FAR better than the first attempt was and, I think, far more worthy of it's place in the Mierce line.

I read about the mishaps on the RBG forums earlier, but didn't want to post them, to not make people upset about some minor delay. But I am more than happy everything worked out in the end, and I am confident in your skills to set the standards even higher for Darklands. You'll be worthy contribution to their range in my humble opinion!

Are these the only two Savrar being sculpted?

If there was a third, I'd be all over them. Would make great candidates for a unit, too. 35mm to the eye standing, 22mm on the crouched model, can be used for all sorts of things! And don't suffer from "giantitis" like the gator sculpts

other than that no more yet

Orlando- I just discovered Myrkanio! And it's likely for Wave 1, to boot! That makes three Savrar, and likely will convince me

I might be interested in adding on these figures to someone's pledge manager for KS2, do you know when those will stay open till (at least for Wave 1 items)?

I should think until shortly before they being shipping (some time in June?),

but Rob's always given us a warning when he's going to lock stuff so we'll get a last change to throw more cash at them

Important info from the comments

Mierce Miniatures about 5 hours ago

be aware that all Wave 0 orders will be shipping this week, and in packing tomorrow. A combination of stock left over from Salute and not many Wave 0 orders means we can get them out of the door very quickly!

Thus, unless you put an order in today, it's likely that you will have to purchase another Wave 0 shipment item to get stuff sent early.

A week ahead of time warning would be very helpful for me

Also, any thoughts on what base size the Savrar (Ágriosávra, Eikovra, and Myrkranio) will be on, or is that info already posted somewhere?

They're down as 40mm bases on the most recent Khthones Muster sheet (the musters have base sizes for everything)

so that will probably be what they come with (unless playtesting changes anything)

Well that would be perfect for me so sounds great.

They might be a little on the small side (particularly the crouching one) but I'm planning to use these as counts-as gatormen for Hordes. Already ran it past my local group, and assuming I label the bases people seem to be fine with the idea.

I may put the crouching model up on a rock, but they seem very long and should look nice on a 40mm base, I think. Wish there were more scale shots to get an idea of their bulk and not just their height. This might be the only time I've ever wished a Mierce model was a hair larger rather than smaller but I think the size will work fine.

Gatormen are also on 40mm bases, although they have a round lip so don't really go out to the edge of the base (the models hang over it, though). The new gatormen are really beefy but the old are pretty thin, as long as these are somewhere in that range I should be fine

Happy Happy, Joy Joy it's update day again

KS1

Wælwulfas = Complete

It's a day for Huzzah-ing, because - wait for it - the Wælwulfas are finally, finally complete.

Huzzah!

Cenric, Wælwulf Warrior

The final Wælwulf warrior has now been completed by Benoît Cosse (although this is still a work in progress image), and whilst you must always take Benoît's images - which are, frankly, terrible (sorry BN) - with a pinch of salt, we do think they'll look superb "in the flesh". You can kind of see what we mean with the video!

{the above is a video on the KS page if you want to see the sculpt spin}

Here's a shot of the full unit, too:

As soon as we get them (which should be next week) we'll start casting them and at that point we'll get some proper photographs done so that you can see what you're getting for your money.

Darklands: a World of War Fulfilment

The QuickStarter Rules should be sent off to the printers next week, and - thanks to the Wælwulfas being complete - we're confident that we'll be able to fulfil everything from this project by the end of June.

Thus, we'll be combining the rules and the Wælwulfas with Wave 1 from Darklands: First Edition where we can, saving us postage and you heartache!

Remaining Sculpts

In terms of remaining sculpt progress, here's an update:
• Benoît Cosse: the Wælwulfas are now complete, and that concludes Benoît's work for this project.

QuickStarter Rules, Muster Rules and Kindred Musters

There's a few other bits and pieces yet to be done of course, so here's how progress is looking on those fronts...

There's now a new version of the QuickStarter Rules - v10.6 - and this is now the FINAL version before printing. We took the opportunity of the delay to get a few formatting changes (including the addition of page numbers) in as well as tidy up a couple of rules that needed attention.

You can download them here: DARKLANDS QUICKSTARTER RULES v10.6

We would recommend - especially if you are familiar with those previous versions of the QuickStarter Rules - to have a good read through, and also please check out the Mierce Miniatures forum, in particular the "Darklands Rules Discussion" section and the "Observations from a first read" thread...

Printing the QuickStarter Rules

We have excellent news: the QuickStarter Rules are about ready for print and will be shipped off to our printers soon. We hope to have them by the end of April!

A Kindred Muster, what we call an army list, gives you the blocks to build a host of a particualr kindred for Darklands. It includes all of the different unit types available to you as a general wishing to create an army, in the shape of warrior profiles.

The kindred musters given below include all of the warriors unlocked by our projects so you can check exactly what you're getting for your money in game terms.

Bear in mind, however, that any new profiles are only partially playtested (if at all) - expect changes and feel free to give us feedback on the Mierce forums. Check them out for some awesome new warriors, however!
• ALBAINN MUSTER v1.6
•ANGELCYNN MUSTER v1.11
•BRYTHONIAID MUSTER v1.7
•BYZANTII MUSTER v1.2
•FOMORAIC MUSTER v1.9
•INFERNII MUSTER v1.1
•KHTHONES MUSTER v1.5
•NORSE MUSTER v1.6
•VRAS MUSTER v1.5
•YSIAN MUSTER v1.8
•SELL-SWORD MUSTER v1.4

Muster Links in bold include warriors from this project.

No doubt there'll be a few errors or typos - feel free to tell us about them!

Upon each profile is a handy pronunciation guide (based on the Wikipedia Pronunciation Respelling Key) under the warrior's title and, at the bottom of each profile, a suggestion on which miniature from our range to use as that warrior on the battlefield.

The End of Darklands: a World of War is almost here!

We are now very confident that everything will be shipped for Darklands: a World of War by the end of June, which will both be a sad day and an awesome day. Either way, we'll find some way to celebrate...!

There may be more updates before then, especially to show better images of the Wælwulfas, so keep checking here!

KS2 update. I love Mierceday!

Lots More Sculpts!

Amazingly, it's Friday again... but that's good news for you lot, because we have loads for you today! This week we have:
sculpt work in progress updates from Stéphane Camosseto, Roberto Chaudon, Jacques-Alexandre Gillois, Tre Manor, Juan Navarro Pérez and Stéphane Simon;
what miniatures we believe will be sent in Wave 1;
updated lists of sculptors and sculpts;
updated QuickStarter Rules, with current Muster Rules and Kindred Musters;
what you can expect from us over the next few months.

There's lots to show you today, so let's get on with it...

Eadric, Forthegn of Mierce on Foot

Stéphane Camosseto is fast proving himself an awesome addition to our team of sculptors; Eadric is looking bloody awesome, especially with that great belly!

We are confident that Stéphane will complete Eadric on foot in time for Wave 1 shipments.

Ffion Ferddig, Bard of Gwynedd

Juan Navarro Pérez's been pretty quiet of late, but don't take that to mean that he hasn't been busy - check out the first work in progress images of Ffion Ferddig, our lovely Brythoniaid lass!

Hopefully this means that Ffion will be a Wave 1 shipment...!

Erebius, Demiurion

As reported by Tre on a couple of forums, he's had a few issues with the original Erebius when baking; but, quite amazingly, he's re-sculpted him from scratch and the new version looks even better than the old one!

We're now quite confident that Tre will complete Erebius in time for that Wave 1 shipment.

Daarkan, Tain of Baalor

Jacques-Alexandre Gillois has done it again. No words can explain how we feel about Daarkan, so here's some images instead...

Daarkan will now, of course, definitely be a Wave 1 shipment.

Naraa, Tain of Baalor

Crikey. Errr...

Again, Naraa will definitely be a Wave 1 shipment... which makes us weep with joy!

Xontór, Gorgon of Khthon

Stéphane Simon's been cracking on with Xontór, as you can see... he's going to be great!

We do hope that Xontór will be a Wave 1 shipment!

Myrkranio, Bone Warrior

The speed of Roberto Chaudon is something to behold: not only has he now about finished Myrkranio, he's begun work on Mag ap Mag, although it's early days on him yet. Here's Myrkranio, anyway...

We should be getting the three Sávrar commanders next week, so they'll definitely be Wave 1 shipments!

Darklands: First Edition Fulfilment

There's plenty going on at the moment as we gear up for sending Wave 1. We now have a good idea of what will and what won't make it into your Wave 1 shipments, and whilst we have planned for delays, there are always some circumstances that ensure delays are unavoidable.

You can post up the 2.5 update Orlando!

And thanks for posting up the 1.0 update - glad to see the Wælwulfas are finally done.

And I know Rob keeps saying it, but I really do hope that Benoit's pics are doing the models justice - because the pics we've seen to date are a bit....lackluster.

I ordered these based on the artwork and Mierce's excellent "artwork to model" track record!

Erebius is really looking nice.

Me being the smart person that I am finally put two and two together that Tre is the same Tre that sculpted the overwhelming majority of Reaper figures we own. Go figure.

I've got my brother wanting to order some Roman figures as it is- Erebius would like nice hanging out with a bunch of legionaries

Daarkan is looking pretty rocking too.

Do I get them or put in for Xontor?.

Poorly lit photos of my ever- growing collection of completely unrelated models!
