Go on then KS2.5 update

Update #67 More Sculpts, Fulfilment News and Categories Closing Soon...

We've more sculpts to show you this week, and not just Sáthach, either, which is quite astounding. As well as that, we've news on Wave 0 fulfilment and advance warning of the Kickstarter Categories closing at the end of May...

Sáthach, Ríonfénnid

Amazingly, Yannick Hennebo has completed work on Sáthach, which is just incredible really. She's turned out to be rather stunning, too!

Well, Sáthach will definitely be a Wave 4 shipment... and before you all ask, she won't be put forward simply because we have enough to do with Darklands: First Edition and Wave 1!

One good piece of news is that Yannick is willing to do more for us. Stay tuned...

Helmed Naraa, Tain of Baalor

With Jacques-Alexandre Gillois having completed Naraa, he's also found the time to cast her head and helm her up!

Obviously, Naraa will be a Wave 4 shipment!

Darklands: First Edition II Fulfilment

We have some awesome news for you all: we've already begun shipping Wave 0 orders this week, with more going out today, and all Wave 0 orders will be complete by early next week!

This does, of course, mean that if you would like any more existing miniatures, you'll have to purchase the Wave 0 shipment item again - but if you've got Wave 1 orders going out for items from our previous project, we will of course ship existing items with that Wave 1 shipment.

After Wave 0 is complete, there's a bit of a wait until Wave 4 occurs, but there's plenty of items going out in Waves 1, 2 and 3 later on this year.

Kickstarter Categories Closing Soon

On that note, as we're half-way through May, it's worth reminding you that:
•The Darklands: First Edition category will close at midnight (GMT) on the 2nd of June for backers of this project only (it will remain open for backers of Darklands: First Edition)
•The Existing Miniatures category will close at midnight (GMT) on the 2nd of June regardless

In other words, get your skates on if you want anything from those categories![/colour]

Sculpts and Sculptors

Here's the big list of who's sculpting what and when for Darklands: First Edition II. Please bear in mind that this list may change over time, so don't take it as set in stone until the first work in progress shots appear.
• Olivier Bouchet: along with the alterations to Gromi, Olivier will also be sculpting the Oghu Guardians, Oghur Unit and the Abhorrents of Ys, Abhorrent Unit.
• Stéphane Camosseto: Stéphane has taken on Eoric's Pack, Werwulf Unit as well as Armoured Hrōr for us.
• Allan Carrasco: Allan will be sculpting Ravener Birna and Thórrir.
• Roberto Chaudon: Thanks to Roberto being so awesome, we've loaded him up with the Craven Fiends of Dis, Fiend Unit, the Corpse Takers, Hrafnmann Unit, Enslaved Ágriosávra, Khallas, Parawn and Hrókr.
• Benoît Cosse: we've given Benoît the remainder of the Slaughterers, Krokodar Unit, Brunchaath on Gooracx, Srók, and lots of alternates - Kill-Head Flint-Fang, Marked Galagaak, Young Magágg, Umaer Drast, Skyclad Itaina and Skyclad Ciniod. The Alternates look scary but really are not - they can be done very quickly!
• Yannick Fusier: thanks to his awesome work on Bagseg, we've given Yannick the Oghu Keepers, Oghurithne Unit - and he's already begun work on them!
• Jacques-Alexandre Gillois: Jacques has completed Helmed Naraa, and that concludes his work for this project.
• Christian Hardy: Christian will have just Feral Agathae to sculpt.
• Yannick Hennebo: we have great pleasure in announcing that the world-famous Yannick Hennebo will be sculpting Sáthach for us!
• Patrick Masson: Patrick will be sculpting Uhtred on Horse, to match his foot version.
• Hector Moran: excitingly, Hector will be digitally sculpting In III Judas, Demilegionary Incaendium and Quintus Crito.
• Stéphane NGuyen: Stéphane will sculpt Akkaz and Tykho!
• Olivier Nkweti: Olivier will be digitally sculpting The Eye Ascendant, Warriors of Baalor Unit, the Loyal Guard, Teulu unit, the Warriors of Dyngonwy, Rhyfelwyr Unit, and the Spears of Dun Durn, Gairlom Unit. Four units for Olivier, but such is his work rate and professionalism, we think that's no trouble for him.
• Juan Navarro Pérez: Juan will be sculpting the alternates Tonsured Caedoc and Forwyn Carys from this project.
• Stéphane Simon: the Shadows of Carn Bran, Shadow-Drune Unit and Ax-Crom are the sum of Stéphane's work for this project.
• Andrew Speirs: one of our regular backers and a good friend, Andrew will be converting the Trolls to become Armoured Trolls, and work has already begun on them.
• Ernst Veingart: the sculptor of Mjagnir, Ernst is now sculpting a "miniature" that will dwarf the Jötunn - Gomagg, the Albainn Giant!
• Valentin Zak: unfortunately Valentin only has time to sculpt one miniature for us from this project, and he'll be sculpting Cæna.
• Unknown: we don't yet have sculptors confirmed for Sweordsman Timoth, Rēoc's Pack, Geraint on Ceffyldraig and Max Schüte's second Descendant, but we hope to confirm them soon.

Tons of sculpts!

Completed Sculpts

We thought this would be a good idea, as things are cracking on - a list of completed sculpts, in kindred order! Completed sculpts are in bold; in progress sculpts are in italics.
• ALBAINN: Oghu Guardians - Skyclad Ciniod - Oghu Keepers (Brugbad - Dungabad - Lobeg - Bogad - Rubeg) - Skyclad Itaina - Spears of Dun Durn - Umaer Drast - Gromi (Gromi - Gromi with two cleavers - Armoured Gromi with two cleavers) - Young Magágg - Gomagg

•VRAS: Kill-Head Flint-Fang
•YSIANS: Abhorrents of Ys - Ax-Crom - Flesh-Scavengers (Gondard - Ekk - Yrag - Bil - Flesh-Pile) - Shadows of Carn Bran - Akkaz
•SELL-SWORDS: Uhtred on Horse, Sáthach
•DESCENDANTS: Max Schüte's second Descendant

Let us know if we've missed anything!

Sáthach is looking pretty good - almost spot on with the artwork.

Especially the hair!

The face seems a bit...different, but I'm sure it will all turn out great!

Myrkranio, Bone Warrior

The speed of Roberto Chaudon is something to behold: not only has he now about finished Myrkranio, he's begun work on Mag ap Mag, although it's early days on him yet. Here's Myrkranio, anyway...

We should be getting the three Sávrar commanders next week, so they'll definitely be Wave 1 shipments!

I'm not quite as much of a fan of this Sávrar as the others, but I'll just be taking Eikovra's banner topper (see pic below) and putting it on the above model, should look good. Eikovra is below:

Will be making units of 5 of these guys, with 1 Myrkanio, 2 Eikovra, and 2 Ágriosávra per unit:

I do wish that the enslaved Ágriosávra wasn't Wave 4 (whereas these are all Wave 1). I may have to pick up a couple of it later just to have a slight variety with the closed mouth version (I'll be replacing the shield, anyway). But for now, I'll be going forward with these three sculpts

Also, Roberto Chaudon is my hero. All of the above sculpts are his, and also the below one for Arena Rex. He is fast and I love his style... totally seeking his miniatures from the various companies he's sculpting for (although it is mostly Mierce now, with how much work they're giving him from the latest campaign!).

So much awesome miniature being sculpted. I can't really keep up with "collecting" them anymore, which is a bummer. I totally agree with that Roberto Chaudon is an awesome sculptor and I too really enjoy his style.

Bagseg, Angedern, Scecchus, Thoth, Jörmungand and Brugg are done (check the updates for images), leaving only Gaarwäg and Hrōr. Gaarwäg is underway - we have images of his armature - but there's no point showing anything until there's more meat on his bones really. Hrōr will definitely be late as Stéphane Camosseto is doing Eadric and Eadric on Horse before him, but we're quietly confident the wait will be worth it!

Hope that helps.

You want bones?

You can have mine, as that's what I've worked my fingers down to these last few days, working on Ssybrios.

Good God Mierce! The trimming I had to do on all those damned spikes and pointy pieces! I guess it still wasn't as bad as having to glue all those on actually. I still feel his tail is too short, but in the end, I'm glad I got him.

Now to just clear out the other 40+ half finished pieces clogging up my workspace so I can get to painting him... I don't think I've ever seen him painted up yet either- here' to hoping I can be the first!

Would totally do it again too. I think I enjoy cleaning and building these figures even more than painting them. I think it's the model builder inside me that enjoys trying to figure out where everything goes- except I'm not sure where exactly his scarf/ cloak is supposed to actually attach. Under his neck?

Poorly lit photos of my ever- growing collection of completely unrelated models!

I'm guessing the models I posted above? The standing one is somewhere between 30-35mm to the eye. Here is a comparison pic to a big model:

Here's a pic of the crouched one with a ruler:

Roberto Chaudon had this description on his blog for the crouched one:

This is the second Savrar I've sculpted for Mierce Miniatures so far. Fimo, green stuf (DURO) and Magic Sculpt. 22mm to the eye line, 35mm in a stand pose.

Mierce describes the standing one as "around 30mm to the eye", so maybe it is either not quite upright, in between 30 and 35, or they're just approximating.

Comparison pic while the crouched one was still WIP:

Honestly, Mierce needs to make finding out info on their sculpt sizes a little easier . These sizes are perfect for me, I think, but most of the size info is from Roberto Chaudon's blog. Hope this helps

Slight correction- Mierce needs to make the sizes more easy to find on their newer releases. Most of the older ones have the scale pictures, mention of base sizes... the newer releases don't, which makes a lot of them some serious guess work.

Also that Dyndraig standing next to Agriosavra is BIG. In the process of trying to paint him up, and he dwarfs pretty much everything on two legs on my table aside from some Sronax hanging around here.

So does anyone think there are any particular good deals in Darklands 2? I mean, obviously the expected 20% off is great, I'm more talking like how pricing was kind of goofy in KS 1, there Angrislaug, Ygandr and Vaak were all 40 pounds, but ended up in wildly different retail prices. Similarly, Malacant had a greater than normal discount (30% vs 20%). Same with the man sized commanders (10 vs 15). I'd bet on Parawn "beating the spread", so to speak.

I thought that the resculpts of some of those existing pieces weren't a bad deal, considering the size of some of those pieces (the giant 2 headed rat, the younger version of the cyclops, and the 4 armed minotaur specifically). Looking at what the currently released versions sell for regularly stateside, outside of outlying ebay sales, it seems like it might be cheaper to get them via KS.

Other than those that Highlord Tamburlain mentioned

It's the big minis that turn out to be bigger (or require more molds than expected) that previously turned out to be the better than expected bargains,

Update for Darlands II

Update #68 May 23 2014

Gomagg!

Incredibly, we have another sculpt to show you on this, our latest project update... as well as some more artwork, too! We also have news on Wave 0 fulfilment and another advance warning of the Kickstarter Categories closing at the end of May.

There will be no Friday update next week as I am on holiday, but the boys are still here so if you have any questions or points to note please feel free to email or message or comment as normal!

Gomagg, Giant

Ernst Veingart has taken Sam Lamont's drawing of Gomagg and ran with it... it's one thing to ask for something to be a certain size, and quite another to see it in scale with our other miniatures. Gomagg is actually 156mm to the eye...

Just - wow.

Gomagg is so big and heavy, Ernst had to complete his legs and bake them first... otherwise... well, I'm sure you could guess what would happen!

Gomagg should be a Wave 4 shipment of course.

Ekk's Heap, Flesh-Pile

Danny Cruz has completed work on the Flesh-Pile and here's the result...!

Ekk's Heap

Ekk's Heap will of course be sculpted by Stéphane Simon, and it will fit on a 30mm base, just like Yrag's Mound below.

Yrag's Mound

Bil and Beb's Trove

Bil and Beb's Trove is designed to fit on a 60mm base.

These two Flesh-Piles have not been funded of course, so it's unlikely they'll be sculpted any time soon, but it's cool artwork all the same!

Darklands: First Edition II Fulfilment

All of the original Wave 0 orders are now complete - bar a couple of stragglers that need templates!

On that note, as we're near the end of May, it's worth reminding you that:
•The Darklands: First Edition category will close at midnight (GMT) on the 2nd of June for backers of this project only (it will remain open for backers of Darklands: First Edition)
•The Existing Miniatures category will close at midnight (GMT) on the 2nd of June regardless

In other words, get your skates on if you want anything from those categories!

QuickStarter Rules, Muster Rules and Kindred Musters

There's a few other bits and pieces yet to be done of course, so here's how progress is looking on those fronts...

There's now a new version of the QuickStarter Rules - v10.6 - and this is now the FINAL version before printing. We took the opportunity of the delay to get a few formatting changes (including the addition of page numbers) in as well as tidy up a couple of rules that needed attention.

You can download them here: DARKLANDS QUICKSTARTER RULES v10.6

We would recommend - especially if you are familiar with those previous versions of the QuickStarter Rules - to have a good read through, and also please check out the Mierce Miniatures forum, in particular the "Darklands Rules Discussion" section and the "Observations from a first read" thread...

Printing the QuickStarter Rules

We have excellent news: the QuickStarter Rules are about ready for print and will be shipped off to our printers soon. We hope to have them by the end of April!

The new, updated Muster Rules are now available for download.

You can download them here: DARKLANDS MUSTER RULES v2.3

They include the most recent, updated rules regarding hosts, units and warriors as listed in the QuickStarter Rulebook. The Muster Rules will not be printed, please remember; they will, however, always be available for download and will always be living rules.

At some point I'll get around to putting links up on our website...!

A Kindred Muster, what we call an army list, gives you the blocks to build a host of a particualr kindred for Darklands. It includes all of the different unit types available to you as a general wishing to create an army, in the shape of warrior profiles.

The kindred musters given below include all of the warriors unlocked by our projects so you can check exactly what you're getting for your money in game terms.

Bear in mind, however, that any new profiles are only partially playtested (if at all) - expect changes and feel free to give us feedback on the Mierce forums. Check them out for some awesome new warriors, however!
• ALBAINN MUSTER v1.6
•ANGELCYNN MUSTER v1.11
•BRYTHONIAID MUSTER v1.7
•BYZANTII MUSTER v1.2
•FOMORAIC MUSTER v1.9
•INFERNII MUSTER v1.1
•KHTHONES MUSTER v1.5
•NORSE MUSTER v1.6
•VRAS MUSTER v1.5
•YSIAN MUSTER v1.8
•SELL-SWORD MUSTER v1.4

Muster Links in bold include warriors from this project.

No doubt there'll be a few errors or typos - feel free to tell us about them!

Upon each profile is a handy pronunciation guide (based on the Wikipedia Pronunciation Respelling Key) under the warrior's title and, at the bottom of each profile, a suggestion on which miniature from our range to use as that warrior on the battlefield.
That's it for this week - the next update will be on the 6th of June!

Now on to KS2's Update

Update #69 May 23 2014

It's your Regular Friday Feeling

Yet another Friday is here and we have tons of stuff to show you... so why keep it to ourselves? Our sculptors keep sculpting, and we need to show it!

This week we have:

•sculpt work in progress updates from Allan Carrasco, Roberto Chaudon, Christian Hardy, Tre Manor, Patrick Masson, Hector Moran, Juan Navarro Pérez and Stéphane Simon;
• what miniatures we believe will be sent in Wave 1;
•updated lists of sculptors and sculpts;
• updated QuickStarter Rules, with current Muster Rules and Kindred Musters;
• what you can expect from us over the next few months.

Now, there will be no Friday update next week as I am on holiday, but the boys are still here so if you have any questions or points to note please feel free to email or message or comment as normal!

Right, let's go!

Aldhelm, Sceop of Mierce

It's took a long while for Christian Hardy to begin work on his sculpts for us but we're very, very pleased with the results. Aldhelm, sculpted from a concept by Des Hanley, is looking great!

We're now confident that Aldhelm can be shipped in Wave 1.

Ffion Ferddig, Bard of Gwynedd

Juan Navarro Pérez is gathering pace and Ffion is nearing completion, amazingly - she's looking very cool as well. We can't wait to get our hands on her!

Ffion should definitely be a Wave 1 shipment.

Mag ap Mag, Prifdynwocor of Powys

Fresh from completing the Sávrar, Roberto Chaudon is sculpting Mag ap Mag faster than greased ferret up a drainpipe. He's looking great!

It looks very much like Mag ap Mag will be a Wave 1 shipment now!

Erebius, Demiurion

Huzzah! Tre Manor has finished Erebius, and he's looking excellent. We can't wait to get our hands on him!

Erebius should definitely be a Wave 1 shipment now.

Gellius, Legionary

Hector Moran has been working on the Legionary Contubernium, Con I Modius, and the first Legionary to get his treatment is Gellius. He's not in pose yet, but it won't be long before he's finished!

Con I Modius comprises five miniatures, of course, so it will be a while before they're all done. Even so, we expect Con I Modius to be a Wave 2 shipment.

Gaarwäg, Mammax Tain

Whoohoo! Patrick Masson! The Small! How awesome is this guy? Gaarwäg is looking brilliant - it's early fur days yet, but we're very confident he's going to look fantastic...

Spoiler:

Spoiler:

Here's a scale shot from an early armature... he's a big 'un!

It looks very much like Gaarwäg will make it into Wave 1, which we're very happy about...!

Xontór, Gorgon of Khthon

Stéphane Simon is a very happy man at the moment, for one simple reason: he's finished Xontór's scales! Now Stéphane's done that, he can really work on that torso and armour, and we think Xontór could be even better than Ophios, who is one of our favourite sculpts ever.

We're quietly confident that Xontór will make it into Wave 1, but we'll see...

Knútr of Víkin, Skipari of Hrafnen on Horse

Allan Carrasco... what can we say about this man, other than - he's incredible? Allan is truly a master of his craft; they do say that horses are amongst the most difficult of creatures to sculpt right, but Allan makes it all look so easy...

We do very much hope that Knútr on Horse will make it into a Wave 1 shipment, but he does have Knútr on that horse to do yet, so we'll see.

Darklands: First Edition Fulfilment

There's plenty going on at the moment as we gear up for sending Wave 1. We now have a good idea of what will and what won't make it into your Wave 1 shipments, and whilst we have planned for delays, there are always some circumstances that ensure delays are unavoidable.

To maximise the length of time between now and Wave 1, and thus get more miniatures sculpted and cast, we're going to start shipping Wave 1 in the last week of June. Bear in mind, then, that shipments will continue into July and probably August, and as always we will prioritise orders in date order - i.e., if you ordered early, you'll get your stuff sent early!

What Ships When?

Here's an up to date list of what we think will be shipped when. Note that this list could change, but we'll keep it updated every Friday.

Items in bold will DEFINITELY be sent in that wave as we have the sculpt; items in italics should make it into that wave, but we don't yet have the sculpt.
• SHIPMENT WAVE 0: complete for this project.
• SHIPMENT WAVE 1 (beginning June): Dúngal on foot - Dúngal on pony - Ciniod - Itaina - Domnech - Bagseg - Eadric on foot - Aldhelm - Leofwen on foot - Broga - Urien on foot - Ffion Ferddig - Angedern - Mag ap Mag - Ieuan Longshore and Taranau - Erebius - Mananaan on foot - Idruaada - Daarkan - Naraa - Gaarwäg - Scecchus - Xontór - Thelliatiss - Dawn of Khthon (Myrinna - Syntyss - Thillia - Phyllidii - Elthissi) - Thoth - Hanokh - Ágriosávra- Eikovra - Myrkranio - Knútr on foot - Knútr on horse - Birna - Víthar - Rollo Iron Head - Jörmungand - Crom on foot - Crom on horse - Annik - Zethag - Gondard (Gondard - Ekk) - Brugg - Uhtred Uhtredson - Finnan - Danilo Cruz
• SHIPMENT WAVE 2 (beginning August): Eadric on horse - Timoth - Hrōr - Urien on horse - Carys - Caedoc - Equitus Durio on foot - Equitus Durio on horse - Agathae - Velchior - Djiuzu - Con I Modius - Mananaan on horse - Baagath's Herd - Praach - Hrafnen Crew - Mälmord - Seza
• SHIPMENT WAVE 3 (beginning October): Cnebba - Gesith Unit - Trytheorn - Rick Boer's Frisian Warrior - Max Schüte's German Berserker

Have I ordered the right Waves?

Fairly obviously (and to remind you all that we won't split orders unless you've purchased more than one shipment wave) if you've only purchased one Shipment Wave item, your items will only be sent in one shipment when everything is ready. In a nutshell:
•If you have purchased Waves 1, 2 and 3, whatever is available will be shipped in each wave, with wave 3 waiting until everything's finally ready.
•If you have purchased Waves 1 and 2, whatever is available in Wave 1 will be shipped in June, with everything else waiting until everything's finally ready.
•If you've only purchased Wave 1, your orders will be shipped when everything's finally ready.

There's still time for you to change this by ordering more shipment waves of course - feel free to do so, but as soon as Wave 1 is complete, that shipment item will be removed from the webstore. so you'd best be quick!

Please be patient!

We would ask you all to be patient with both ourselves and our artists; sculptors live in the real world and real world problems often impinge upon their time, so please bear in mind that they are working as fast as they possibly can on our miniatures and giving us their full attention. We do not want to rush sculptors for the simple reason that rushed work is often poor work!

Sculpts and Sculptors

Here's the big list of who's sculpting what and when for Darklands: First Edition! Please bear in mind that this list may change over time, so don't take it as set in stone until the first work in progress shots appear.
• Olivier Bouchet: Olivier Bouchet has begun work on Thelliatiss.
• Stéphane Camosseto: Stéphane is carrying on with Eadric on foot and he will sculpt Eadric on horse after that. He has also now taken on Hrōr, so that he matches the Werwulfas unlocked as part of Darklands: First Edition II.
• Allan Carrasco: Knútr on Horse is underway, and then it's Cnebba.
• Roberto Chaudon: Mag ap Mag is getting there, and then it's Mälmord and finally Djiuzu, in that order.
• Benoît Cosse: Work on Finnan has begun, and Praach and Baagath's Herd will follow.
• Thomas David: work on Timoth has begun, and we should have images in a week or so.
• Pedro Fernández Ramos: He'll soon begin work on Mananaan on horse.
• Jacques-Alexandre Gillois: Equitus Durio on foot and Equitus Durio on horse will be sculpted over the summer.
• Christian Hardy: Christian has begun work on Aldhelm (taken from Maxime Penaud), with Velchior to follow.
• Yannick Hennebo: Because Christian's a bit behind and Yannick is available, we've now given Agathae to Yannick Hennebo, with Christian's permission of course.
• Tre Manor: Tre has completed the sculpting of Erebius and that concludes his work for us on this project!
• Patrick Masson: Gaarwäg is now underway!
• Hector Moran: he has begun digitally sculpting Con I Modius, Legionary Contubernium with Gellius being the first example.
• Stéphane NGuyen: Stéphane should begin work on Seza soon, but we're not sure when right now.
• Juan Navarro Pérez: Ffion Ferddig is almost complete and she will be followed by Urien on horse, Carys and Caedoc. Juan has also agreed to sculpt Tomas Johansson's Geat Warrior, Trytheorn, although he's not sure when that will occur.
• Stéphane Simon: Xontór is half-way through and after him he'll have Crom on horse, the Holumenn Unit and the Gesíth Unit to do. He's getting there!
• Unknown: the remaining two descendants, which are Rick Boer's Frisian Warrior (due to be drawn by Stefan Kopinski) and Maximilian Schüte's Germanic Berserker.

Sculpts are certainly progressing now!

Completed Sculpts

We thought this would be a good idea, as things are cracking on - a list of completed sculpts, in kindred order! Completed sculpts are in bold; in progress sculpts are in italics.

In amongst the KS excitement, new releases have appeared on the website:

Five New Releases for June

As it's early May, the June releases are here! Four of them come from our Darklands: A World of War Kickstarter project, which is now almost complete as only the Wælwulfas (for the Angelcynn) are left to release; and this month sees the start of our 'foot and mounted' combinations, which allow you to purchase both forms of a particular commander or general at a discount, which is always nice.

This month, then, we have Penda the Bloody-Handed on Foot and on Horse for the Angelcynn; a Fomoraic Warchief, Aalvór, who is a Mallax Tain; Jowan and Hounds of Carn Dhu for the Ysians, comprising Jowan the Hound-Master and three Drune-Hounds; the Hounds of Carn Dhu release, containing five random Drune-Hounds for the Ysians, and finally, again for the Ysians, Druc the mighty Meat-Hulk!

Just like the last few months, thanks to us being busier than busy bees we've just not had the time to get the release art and descriptions done; but you can still see some good images of each miniature on the website of course.

Penda the Bloody-Handed on Foot and on Horse

The first of our 'foot and mounted' combinations, you can now purchase the frankly awesome Warrior-King of Mierce, Penda the Bloody-Handed, in both forms at a discount - you'll save £5.00 from the cost of purchasing them both individually! Sculpted by Jacques-Alexandre Gillois from concept art by Stefan Kopinski, Penda really is a superb miniature, especially when painted by a master like Sébastien Picque.

Aalvór, Mallax Tain

From a concept by Danny Cruz, Benoît Cosse has sculpted our first Mallax or sloth-man for the Fomoraic in the hairy shape of Aalvór, a Warchief. The Mallax, being sloth-men, are fairly slow but their defensive qualities more than make up for that, for they are rarely fazed by any occurrence upon the battlefield and are used by the Fíorfomor to guard and garrison where mere humans will not do. Aalvór stands on a 60mm base, is around 50mm tall to the eye and is a Warchief.

Jowan and Hounds of Carn Dhu, Hound-Master and Drune-Hound Unit

With Jowan and the Drune-Hounds available separately, it's time to combine them into one easy package - and at a discount, too, for purchasing Jowan and the three Drune-Hounds together will save you around £7 from their individual price! Masterfully sculpted by Stéphane Simon from a concept by Danny Cruz, these guys stand on 30mm bases and are well able to take the fight to the enemy quickly.

Hounds of Carn Dhu, Drune-Hound Unit

Drune-Hounds can, of course, be taken in units on their own without a Hound-Master, although they are Feral as a result. Even so, such beasts can be extremely useful for any Ysian general, for whilst they are killed fairly easily they are cheap and can hit hard! As well as that, by purchasing this unit you can save £10 from purchasing them individually.

Druc, Meat-Hulk

The mighty Meat-Hulk known as Druc, mutated and grown to huge proportions by the insane Flesh-Smiths of Ys, is an awesome presence on the battlefield - and now you can include his 'miniature' in your Ysian armies too! Sculpted by Stéphane NGuyen van Gioi from artwork by Danny Cruz, Druc stands on a 100mm base and is around 120mm tall to the top of his fingers.

All of the releases above will be officially released on the 7th of June 2014, but you can pre-order them now from this very website to your heart's content!

There'll be more releases next month!

Daaamn, Gomagg is huge. I'm amused by what I can only assume to be a puddle of pee on Cormorágg's base.

I noticed theres a Penda mounted/on foot combo for a bit of a discount. Anyone know if there are plans to release the mounted generals in similar packages?

Also, Mag ap Mag is a lot smaller than I would have expected given his price tag.

I reckon so. It is mentioned that it's the first foot and mounted combo...
