WHEW! Gotta tell you all those crazy stories about Codex: Grey Knights with their heart-carving special characters and Superion and Chibo Hawks and Inquisitors being pushed to the side... Had me worried for a bit. I mean really, MOAR SPASE MARINES?

But now it looks like the book I was really waiting for, Daemon Hunters will be out in April. It will cover inquisitors, acolytes and even a small section on Grey Knights for those who are interested. Oh and of course it will have advesary rules becuase what's the point of a Daemon Hunter book without Daemons?

So I know where my money is going this April.

Doesn't help people that play 40k, but it should be a good addition to the RPG lineup.

Sssh! that's the joke.

Anyway I am 10x more excited about this book than Codex: Shiny Space Marines, and considering I have a huge DH army that's just sad for GW. I mean if you can't get someone like me excited for what was my favorite army, you're doing something wrong.

Wow. Like the game needed Grey Knights. Deathwatch are great enough but rpg grey knights...more money I going to spend...sigh.

I don't see a downside to adding Grey Knights to the game. I hope rules are good.

Hopefully it'll be the first of three themed Inquisitor books, I will certainly be getting it.

Ascension is next on the buying list mind.

Apparently the new GK codex contains entries for inquisitors and their retinues (according to WD)

EDIT: doh, just realised you're on about the RPG game, not 40k. Ignore me.

I wonder why it's a Dark Heresy suppliment and not a DeathWatch suppliment? Mixing PA with PA should be easier for a GM to balance than mixing them with the rogue traders. Or am I getting Dark Heresy mixed up with something else?

Probably because Grey Knights aren't the primary focus of the Daemonhunters book, and Dark Heresy's a better setting for the 'investigative' aspect of the Daemonhunters.

Deathwatch is kill, kill, kill!--but with a story arc involved.

Probably because Dark Heresy deals with the Inquisition and Daemon Hunters is a source book for Ordo Malleus, not JUST Grey Knights. They can slot some GK stuff in there as a crossover for Death Watch players to buy DH books, too.

Ah. That makes more sense. Thanks!

Because it's about the Ordo Malleus. Think about the last book (Blood of Martyrs) and the two others that are to come after it (Book of Judgement/Only War). These are books that meld Dark Heresy with a certain aspect of that game (Ecclesiarchy, Ordo Malleus, Adeptus Arbites, Imperial Guard). GK's look to just be part of that, with hopefully some stuff to mix it well with Deathwatch.

It's not a 'Grey Knight' book. There's more to it than that.

Yeah I saw it after I posted this. But I think with Codex: AWESOME EXTREME coming out this book is of more general interest than your typical RPG release.

I've heard nothing official but someone on their boards said FFG coordinated with GW on this one and specifically mentioned the Dreadknight.

It might just be a fan speculating/wishlisting but given the number of FFG proof readers/play testers on the boards I'm inclined to consider it likely.

We'll know next month.

FFG announcement wrote:Oh... did we mention Grey Knights? The Warhammer 40,000 Roleplay community has had a lot of fun taking up the mantle of a Deathwatch Space Marine, and now they get the chance to take on the role of a Grey Knight. Daemon Hunter presents rules compatible with Dark Heresy for both PC and NPC Grey Knights. There are also additional rules and advice for including Grey Knights in a campaign using the Deathwatch Rulebook instead.

Now waiting for Jokaero PC rules
