In the HH book "the First Heretic" the Mechanicum have a trio of robots called Crusaders. One is classed as Cataphract class, the other Conqueror, the third unspecified iirc.
Anyone got anymore info on these guys (pics/background/lore), I found them fascinating to be honest but a google search for conqueror and crusaders with parameters returns little joy.

That link suggests that the robots still serve a role in the imperium but I was of the belief that AI is now prohibited in the Imperium.

I thought AI had been prohibited since before the age of strife (the iron men rebellion)?

And heaven forbid if the Marine would also happen to have an intimidating looking, vertical scar. Then you're surly boned. Those guys are the worst. Not a chance I'd say.

These robots don't have AI - they have really simple programming (basically "go here and shoot anything that moves").

They can get some more sophisticated targetting routines but nothing nearing Ai levels.

Call it a machine spirit and no-one'll bat an eyelid. =P

On topic, there's the odd image of Dark Heresy's take on th Centurians found in the Collected Visions Horus Heresy Artbooks (Visions of Treachery etc), just with a little more updated look of the ones from the 80's which are pretty interesting, even if just to look at.

Eye of Terra.

Yeah, the Iron Men were just that. Very sophisticated AI. I like the movie "I, Robot" or maybe even the movie "A.I." for imagery.
