Hey guys, I've got aquestion. For a long while I've been meaning to go to a local GW or FLGS to do some modelling (I like the atmosphere. Or maybe the concept of things going on around me as I work. Whatever). Anyways, I came up with a sorta problem. If I took a model up their to work on, how would I prime it? Obviously you can't do it there in the store, and I'm pretty sure that mall security wouldn't like you priming things in the parking lot. I mean you can always come to the store with models already primed, and just paint them, but I'm curious if there's a way to fully assemble and paint a model while in there store. I know they have figures in glass cases painted in the store, so I'm hoping it done on location, but they could just prime them at home then bring them to the store.

My GW is located on the High Street in our town centre so we are generally allowed to just go out the front of the store and spray there as long as it's not going to be on the pavement (into a box) or next to anyone standing close by.

If i want something primed i generally hand prime it, or go out back of the shop to the bin sheds to spray it.

Pretty much going over the figure with a thin coat of white or black right?

You can do, usually a few very thin drybrushes work nicely as it keeps it thin.

I allways prime grey though as i use alot of mid tones.

My FLGS has a small room in the back that they allow us to prime things, obviously with out own spray and models, I think it just depends on you local store and who runs it.

the local GW is located in a mall, and they would just take us outside the mall, put the box that the mini's are in on top of a trashcan, and prime them there, with no problem..
