no issue...
IMHO SW do not make the best podding list...
there is the Logan bomb idea but it either works like .. well a bomb of you get toasted...
I am trying out something at 1500pts which I will post later but generally the only way I see a podding army working is sort of game of fetch with TWC...
chuck down an anvil in their backfield and tell your puppies to go fetch...
maybe dump Logan, this 2 units of TDA wolf guard and a dread or 2 down with pods and then have some long fangs walk on... and then of course send in the wolves...

Yeah podding lists are pretty terrible these days with the exception of Dread Spam and some Vulkan builds, or a combination of the two.
Other than that, the only comment I can make is that you should NEVER take Master of Runes......EVER. First of all, you have it on a character that has two Psychic Shooting Attacks, and you can only ever use one Psychic Shooting Attack unless you have a rule that allows you to fire more than one ranged weapon (which Rune Priests do not). Second, for 50 points more you get another 2 wound character with a Force Weapon and access to 2 more powers. It's just not worth the price. Period.

When I have a bit more time I'll respond with a lengthier comment.
The 2 pods for the Long Fangs is just to get my Pod count up so I can drop 5 Pods on turn 1. I have to maximize the turn 1 Pod Assault.
Also, I disagree that Wolves make the weakest Pod army. Their counter assault rule alone makes it more viable than others. I'll go into much more detail later tonight.
Thanks a ton guys for the comments.

That's relatively obvious....not sure why he didn't pick up on that.

To clarify, I think ALL Drop Pod armies are terrible. They rely entirely on getting the first shot on your opponent, because if you don't, you are stuck with half of an immobile list facing down your opponents entire army, or most of it. Anyone that plays reserves and can manipulate the rolls (Blood Angels and Eldar for example), can choose to go 2nd, start everything in reserves, and force you to deploy so that THEY get the drop on YOU. It's an extremely obvious and exploitable weakness, and most mechanized forces can take advantage of it in one way or another.
That said, Space Wolves do have Counter-Attack, but this actually works better when they deploy in Rhinos since they can move 12", disembark 2" plus the width of their base, and double-tap 12" for a total threat range of nearly 27", then counter-attack when the survivors assault them. When podding, you run the risk of scattering too far away to use your guns on the right target, then get shot up and charged anyway.
The only truly viable Drop Pod lists are Dread Spam with a Master of the Forge and Vulkan, since you can get 5-6 Dreadnoughts out on the first turn firing twin-linked melta weaponry, and those lists STILL suffer from the reserves weakness.
It's just a basic fact that Drop Pod lists will never be as reliably competitive as standard mech lists. They will catch people off guard from time to time, which makes them fun and amusing for casual play, but most tournament goers that win their first couple of games will know how to deal with them. So if you are looking for a casual list, you have one and it will do just fine, but if you are looking for something more competitive, you should probably try something else.
Just my thoughts.

First off, thanks a ton for your replies. Sorry it took me so long to get back to this thread, but I did want to add a couple things. Rhinos: I disagree that Space Wolves run better in Rhinos and heres why. Your looking at a turn of getting shot at before you can even do anything. If your Rhinos get popped, your Wolves are stuck in the back field running around and are essentially useless for a few turns. Now I'm not saying that all your rhinos are going to get popped turn 1, but generally speaking, your opponent is going to focus fire and probably pop a couple. Now you have a couple units on your side of the board that are running around doing nothing for a few turns. Not to mention, your forced to move around terrain. So while you may have a pretty intense threat range from the rhino, your still forced to maneuverer around building, through difficult terrain, and whatever else your forced to deal with. Pods: The chances of scattering out of that rapid fire range is pretty close to 0. Since the max you can scatter is 12 and you can get out 2 inches, your still going to be within rapid fire range no matter how you look at it. Not to mention you can use terrain to your advantage and set it up in such a way that, even if your pod scatters, it hits a piece of terrain/model and stops. This almost always ensures that your going to get your rapid fire shots off at whatever you want to shoot at. Not to mention, your Wolves are already where you want them (getting ready to take an assault) and now you don't have to worry about terrain getting in the way of where you want to go, or your Rhinos getting popped and rending that squad useless. If your opponent does decide to reserve his army, just bring in a couple empty pods, your Rune Priest pod, and your Termies with the Missile launcher. Set up in an extremely defensive, shooty style manor. This not only gives you time to get your Rockets in cover, your also getting your Rune Priest set up for Living lightening/Jaws. Now, I still have 2 Grey Hunter squads that can come in and Rapid Fire, as well as my 2 Plasma Bomb squads that can unleash 20 str 7 ap2 Shots the turn it comes in. If you think about it, this tactic isn't to far off of having a couple Rhinos getting popped on turn 1. Hell if anything I have a couple units that are ready to take out flankers/Fast units that threaten my Long Fangs. I'm not trying to make Pod lists sound like a "Win All" kind of list, but I do not feel that they are nearly as bad as people make them out to be. Thanks a ton for posting and taking the time to check the list out. I do appreciate the feed back.

Updated the List. I feel it now has enough Fire Power that if they do reserve their army, I can drop my Rune Priest/Grey Hunter Pod, my second Grey Hunter pod, as well as my Rocket Termies pod near my backfield and play the turtle game until my other 2 pods come in.
Let me know what you guys think.
