I reckon the ig should have these in there army. What do you think?
Bombs squad........points: 65 points
Troop/infantry platoon
Bomb sergeant WS:3 BS:3 S:3 T:3 W:1 I:3 A:2 LD:10 SV: 5+/-
Bomb troop WS:3 BS:3 S:3 T:3 W:1 I:3 A:1 LD:9 SV: 5+/-
Comp: 1 bomb sergeant, 9 bomb troops
Unit type: infantry
Wargear:
-lasgun (sergeant has laspistol instead)
-flak armour
-cc weapon
-frag and krak grenades (sergeant also has melta bombs)
Options:
Sergeant may exchange his laspistol for
-bolt pistol........points 2
plasma pistol.....points 10
Sergeant may exchange his cc weapon for
-power sword...points 10
any bomb troop may exchange thier lasgun for
shotgun.....free
2 bomb troops may exchange thier lasguns for
-grenade launcher.......points 5

Type: infantry
wargear:
-servo arm
-shot gun
Rules: mindlock(set on the sergeant instead of a techpriest), move through cover.
Bomb armour: Sv:4+, halfs the strength of blast and template weapons (except D weapons)
Bangtrap: if the spuad is in difficult terain you may shoose to rig it with exsposive. roll a D6 on the roll of 2+ the terrain becomes dangerous terrain (enamy models only) except when a enamy modle fails the test the model suffers a S10 AP2 blast(focused on the model that fails the test).

So it's a squad of Guardsmen with Demo Charges that cost 5x normal but die just as easily? The Bangtrap rule is also very OP, it would just be better to let them secretly rig one piece of terrain before deployment.

i see the points as fare but any sugestions will be taken into account, and they would'nt die as much if you by the bomb armour upgrade.
The Bangtrap rule is also very OP, it would just be better to let them secretly rig one piece of terrain before deployment.
i was thinking about making it minus a demo charge from their stock evertime you use the bangtrap rule. as said any sugestions will be taken and noted.

Not bad but it needs still much to do with. They cost too much, their ld is too high, bangtrap is useless and bomb armour costs too much.

Why do they have leadership higher than that of a Company Commander?
Bomb armor costs too LITTLE if anything. Why is it bomb armor? Why not the established carapace armor? It's the same thing. As many demo packs as you want on these guys, they're going to be pretty nasty. Why do they get cheaper carapace than Vets?
Also your S10 AP2 blast is excessive for the point cost. Either reduce the power of the hit, make it an ability you have to buy seperately, or increase the squad cost.
Finally, their Demo packs should cost more than the demo packs that SWS buy. Its the same philosophy as a Dev squad: You're paying for the weapon, but also for the ability to put so many in one squad.

Personally I think that the bombs are overpriced. 15 or 10 points seems more reasonable. Also I thought of another special rule while reading the post. whenever a member of the squad fails an armor save, roll a d6/if they rolled a 1 for their armor save, and on a result of 6/ the explosives he was carrying explode and you place a small str.5 ap.5 blast template over his head. Just my two cents.
