Ok I've been looking in the book where it says that you need 6's to hit with them and I can't find it.  Can someone point out a page number please?

My other question is "If a vehicle didn't move and it doesn't have a Weapon Skill do you hit automatically with a Nade?"

Warhammer 40,000 4th edition rulebook, page 72 under the heading Using Grenades Against Walkers In Close Combat.

Seen that page and it doesn't say what you need to hit.

I've always used the "Infantry Assaulting Vehicles" rules on page 71 to determine what roll to hit score I needed with meltabombs. Isn't an attack with a grenade just like a regular assault on an enemy vehicle, except that you only get a single attack?

Not against a vehicle with a WS.

As a rule of thumb, the designers do not hide "easter eggs" in the rules. If clever reading is required to unlock some sort of hidden option, then it is most likely the result of wishful thinking.

But there's no sense crying over every mistake;
You just keep on trying till you run out of cake.

Ok got it. Still on page 72. I didnt' look far enough. Walkers in Assault.

You need a 6 unless it's immobilized or stunned then you use your weapon skill.

Anyone know about how many immobillizing hits are required to hit a walker in the rear armour?

If you're going to say "Nade", is it really too much effort to say "grenade"?

Or is "grenade" not cool enough?

A new day, a new time zone.

What's wrong with 'nade?'  It's no worse than 'lith, 'nid, or 'fex.

I'm guessing Cap plays Halo a lot. I hear that little bastardization quite a bit playing Halo2 on xBox Live. And yeah, it's real annoying there too.

After much deliberation, I have come to the conclusion that Cappy's sig actually refers to Tic-Tac-Toe.

Ok from 3rd you had to immobilize a Dreadnaught twice but now in 4th it once but you can never attack it's back armour in hth. Does anyone know where that rule is?

Lordhat. Once you lost to me you'd wonder who was Intellectually the Superior.

PS Nade is a common nick name for grenade.  It has been used for a long time.  I guess you have to be around them to know they have a nick name.

Well, if you have the rulebook, why can´t it wait until you´ve got back home? The answers are clearly ther, the others have said so a number of times already, so why ask it here..?

Seems like a big waste time to me. Especially with that signature of yours...

Oh, give him a break, he just mistyped it.

It should read, "I know the Rules, do I?"

I like when people ask questions just because they can. I don't like Capt Anderton or the use of the word 'nade. If either of those come up during a game, I would immediately force my opponent to forfiet the game, and then I would dock their sports and comp.

If you didn't shed a tear during the opening attack by the Decepticons in the movie than you sir are obviously an android or some form of unfeeling robot and you have no place on these forums.

If you don't pump your arms up and down everytime you hear the song "You've got the Touch" from the soundtrack than you must be some sort of tone deaf mutant who only listens to music made after 1992. Everyone knows this is pointless since modern music fails to rock anybody's face anymore and is really only made by Danny Elfman and an army of MIDI programmed automatons.

If you haven't gotten into arguments about how Rodamus Prime is nothing compared to the true leader of the Autobots, Optimus Prime than I question your manhood entirely. Even if you are actually a woman, I still question your manhood. I mean Optimus was paterned after the Duke for crying out loud! That's a recipe that can never fail in television, friends. Never!

For those that don't know let me break it down for you. We were living in a time when all we had was shows like the Superfriends which was Hanna Barbera's way of trying to make all children incredibly stupid every time they watched TV. It worked. For those that could escape we weren't any the better for it. We merely had new horrors like He-man and the masters of the Universe and the Thundercats. Although both shows left me sexually aroused the entertainment value was lacking. - Glaive

Had a similar situation come up this weekend, and both my opponent and myself aren't that familiar with the 4th edition rules. Yes we both have the rulebook but it didn't seem that clear to us. The situation was he had immobilized my Monolith and then assaulted it with Meltas. We didn't know if it was an automatic hit and we were unsure how to see if they did hit. If the rules are to use the assaulters WS, then you use that versus what? The Monolith doesn't have a WS, does that mean it's an automatic hit? Thanks.

For you flyins.

From what I found you auto hit if it didn't move, 4+ if it moved and 6's if it moved over 6 inches or is a skimmer. Now vs WS vehicles you need 6's unless you stun or immobilize it, then you use your WS vs it.

ie My Dread is immobilized and you jump it with meltabombs. You need your WS 4 vs my WS 4 to hit it. 4+.

How do you kiss someone with an attitude?

I guess this site should change names to "We are all arseholes."

You get what you give. You've spent enough time talking smack and posting incorrect rulings as fact witout checking the rulebook first that it should be no surprise when people fail to be completely helpful in return...

LOL! It's not easy, but it involves 'nades I'm sure. I don't know what a 'nade is but it sounds dirty, and I like it!

You know, out of morbid curiosity... I did a quick Google of the term "'nade"... and got a whole lot of info about the National Association for Developmental Education. Only on page 3 did I finally get a hit on it being a reference to being a GREnade... on a Halo2 forum no less. I did a search on Ask JEeves... and the first reference to a GREnade came on page 4 (nothing more till after page 6... I got tired looking).

However, do a Google of "GREnade"... and you get hits right away about hand thrown fused explosive devices.

Also, knowing plenty of people actually serving in both the US Army and USMC... and not hearing them refer to a grenade as a 'nade... I have a problem beleiving it's a "common" term for a GREnade.
