You also waste everyone's time responding to rules questions with answers seemingly pulled out of thin air, get stroppy when called on it, and then start posting nonsense in a futile attempt to either prove your point or distract everyone with your supposedly awsome cosmic gaming powers. Have a go at Mauleed all you want... just stop filling the forum up with drivel.

You MUST be new here... I am by FAR the least likely person to defend Ed for principle alone.
Heck, the rules argumets we used to get into were the stuff of legend. I'm FAR from being a member of the Ed cult club.
As for the 15 year thing... I only know I never heard the marines and grunts I knew in Hawaii to use the term in common usage when refering to grenades.

What nade used as grenade? Dang I must be out of the loop! I've only been a serving soldier for 3 years now, and I have never heard any one either than super nerds use that term.
Or maybe it's just a Yankee thing.....

Buy the rulebook and look it up for yourself. Are you poor? Can't afford the rule book?
Also, you get 10 points if you can tell me what the word 'irony' means without looking it up in a dictionary.

Look, living on base with your father since you were born does not give you the right to claim 15 years service. Nor does an active membership in the KISS Army. This site is chock full of actual military personel, active and veteran, and I have yet to hear a single one speak up in defense of the term 'nade in a context outside of Halo. Find a little support and maybe you won't get razzed so much.

And Blue Loki, IF I was a coffee drinker, and IF I was drinking coffee at the time I read your post, I would have done the ultimate spit take! Good stuff! I certainly needed a laugh today!

Nade is also a colloqiual term of affection used by those who supported Ralph Nader during the first election won by Bush.

I just did a search on Google Images, and I found pictures of japananime kiddie porn, a guinea pig, and someone's home photos. Is that what you were referencing Capt? So you translated question is "what do I need to roll for my Japananime kiddie porn and guinea pig to damage a walker?"

If you didn't shed a tear during the opening attack by the Decepticons in the movie than you sir are obviously an android or some form of unfeeling robot and you have no place on these forums.
If you don't pump your arms up and down everytime you hear the song "You've got the Touch" from the soundtrack than you must be some sort of tone deaf mutant who only listens to music made after 1992. Everyone knows this is pointless since modern music fails to rock anybody's face anymore and is really only made by Danny Elfman and an army of MIDI programmed automatons.
If you haven't gotten into arguments about how Rodamus Prime is nothing compared to the true leader of the Autobots, Optimus Prime than I question your manhood entirely. Even if you are actually a woman, I still question your manhood. I mean Optimus was paterned after the Duke for crying out loud! That's a recipe that can never fail in television, friends. Never!
For those that don't know let me break it down for you. We were living in a time when all we had was shows like the Superfriends which was Hanna Barbera's way of trying to make all children incredibly stupid every time they watched TV. It worked. For those that could escape we weren't any the better for it. We merely had new horrors like He-man and the masters of the Universe and the Thundercats. Although both shows left me sexually aroused the entertainment value was lacking. - Glaive |

So now my investigative spirit is raised... first couple sites found with search "USMC forum" = military.com, www.grunt.com.
Google search of "grenade* site:military.com" returns about 1,500 hits Google search of "*nade* -grenade* site:military.com" returns three hits
One is a typo for "made" The other two appear to be duplicates, both of which involve a place name:
"i was with the 93 provide mp that work at the ammmon dump out side of futide nade quo non in 68 and 69 would like to hear from am ny bony that was..."
Google search of "grenade* site:www.grunt.com" returns about 1,100 hits Google search of "*nade* -grenade* site:www.grunt.com" returns one hit.
Of course that post was a tongue in cheek rendition of a USMC fanboy...
"Oh oh I'm gonna be a sniper to although I have no idea how hard it will be and even though I may never get the chance to even try out, or I may not be anywhere near in good enough shape, and even though I haven't been to boot camp I think I'll be a sniper, or choose to use whatever weapon I want with no regard for what type of mission were on because I think Nade launchers are COOL."
Still want to claim that "nade" is common military usage?

You know Anderton, you probably should have said "I like the expression 'nade... it's a gamer-geek thing" rather than trying to suggest that you're military and that it's a common military term. It's offensive to a lot of people here to claim military service when you have none and clearly your comment demonstrates this as nade is not a military slang term for a grenade in any english-speaking military. Grenades are called grenades, occasionally the vietnam-era "frag" might be used, really old vets who remember the MkII might call them "pineapples" and occasionally the M61 might be called a "lemon", but generally grenade suffices or the actual grenade designation (M67, M68). It's a simple process to defend your military status... I have several friends you can look you up if you'll provide just a little more info than your name, like your unit, station, or even just MOS (or career area).
