Plummeting Black Templar Thunderhawk Pilot

As per the heading. Also as a subquestion, is there any particular build you enjoy fighting, or when the opponent places his amy down, you think "yeah this is going to be carnage...", or it could even be blood angels for the reasoning "im going to show these cheese marines who is the REAL badass!".

To get the ball rolling, my favourite opponent is Chaos Space Marines. When using my black templars, I just raise my level that little bit - possibly because of all the outrage i feel when reading certain horus heresy books!

A strange place

Nah i don't have a favorite army to fight. Its more like I got favorit opponents to fight

Although i would like to fight non MEQ, just because it would be something different.

Feasting on the souls of unworthy opponents

My favorite army to fight:

Any army that doesn't represent 30-50% of the armies present at a tournament.

It is *really* boring to go through a tournament and play BA Mech Spam, followed by Mech IG spam, followed by BA mech Spam. Or to play SW Razorspam followed by SW Razorspam, followed by BA Mech Spam.

For the love of baby Gandalf, I'd like to play against something a little more exotic!

I love to play against Chaos armies that are built vastly different than mine.

Yes, even Plague Marines.

Xenos. Orks in particular are very fun to face. Since I prefer assaulty MEQ armies, it's always fun pitting my smaller, elite force against hordes of strong but expendable assault troops. There are always moments when the brutal hand-to-hand fighting seems to swing one way, only to reverse in the next round. (Something that's missing from fighting hyper-elite CC units or non-assaulty shooting units).

I love fighting a nid swarm, for me nothing says "sci-fi setting" like a million hungry aliens.

A close second would be my DE versus my friend's Tau. I like the idea of having some blue-skinned, hoove-toed, naive slaves to pick on.

I'm also simultaneously excited and dreading fighting my brother's soon-to-be GK army.

Depends on which army I'm fielding ...
If it's my Orks I like fighting IG,Nids ,Tau or other Orks.
If it's my Death Guard...Pretty much anything...but particularly other Meq armies.

I love fighting Orks. It's just a knock-down, drag-out no matter what happens. Hordes of them die to shooting, which feels "right" to me, and in hand to hand it's brutality all around. They also don't have too much in the way of squirrelly tricks like Lash.

Guards, funny enough. Mostly because the one and only guard player here has an absolutely hilarious breakdown as soon as he looses a single infantry squad (of 10, no less). Although to be fair, we all panick when we start to loose gak, and it's all the same model threshold. But it's funnier with the guard player because he gets unnerved really, really easily.

That, and seeing people take drove after droves of models off the table is hilarious.

Hell, I'm not that bothered by the Stormraven. Why? Because, as it stands right now, it's "limited use".When it's shoehorned in to the Codex: Space Marines, then yeah. I'll be irked.
