Hi Squigsquasher,

All the following advice is just very general, so take it in the spirit of a) I don't know what your meta is like and b) I don't know what your game style is like...

1500

Tyrant - I like the Tyrant, but if you want to give him a big gun then probably don't need the glands. Definitely needs a Tyrant Guard though, or he won't survive long.

Elites - find an extra 50 points for another hive guard and split them into 2 broods of 2. They are your best bet at Anti tank.

Zoeys should probably be in a spod at this points level, though some do have success walking them up...

Troops - I don't think I'de ever take warriors unless I had a prime in their. just eat up too many points and can be very disappointing without the extra BS on their dakka.

I personally prefer to run Hormagaunts either naked, with Adrenals or with Adrenals and poison. This is prob a bit of a meta choice, but unless you're coming up against a lot of T5+ stuff, then the AG give you a bit more flexibility in allowing you to glance rear armour and still wound T4 on 4+.

You only need 10-15 termagaunts if they're going to babysit an objective IMHO. 19 termagaunts just aren't going to add much without upgrades or a Tervy.

Should probably leave your gargoyles at home in this list, or taker another brood of 15 to fly out in a screen in front of your Hormagaunts. They'll get shot up too quickly as just one unit.

Carnifex is a bit meh. These beasties (along with other big beasties) tend to run better in pairs. Ether find the points for another one, or spend them on something else like 'stealers.

Overall - You will suffer against long range Mech with this list as until your Zoey's get into range you can currently only take out two vehicles at range a turn (which will work at 1k, but not 1.5k). Adding another Hive guard and splitting this into two units will help a lot. Finding the extra points for another HVC fex could give you good overall AT (though I don't usually support fexes).

Let me know a bit more about your meta and your favored play style and I'll try and give you some better tips.

OK, fair enough. The Termies are really there as a point sink, and to add extra firepower.

What do you think about the 2000 point list?

Thread necromancy, I know, but is anyone else interested in contributing to this thread?
