Isn't the sanguinor supposed to be an independent character? in the codex it doesn't specify. And if he's not, does that mean he cannot be attached to units?

There are just three simple rules to follow: If I charge, follow me. If I retreat, kill me. If I die, avenge me.

He's not an IC.
That means that he cannot attach to other units and (since he's a unit of always only 1 model) other ICs can't join him.

As grakmar said, sanguinator isnt an IC, so cant join units.
Seems GW want more powerhouse HQ's now, without IC.

Rats, yep, that's what I was afraid of. Would have loved to attach him to a unit of sanguinary guard! Oh well. He's still awesome.
