Hey I just started orks and I don't know which Hq to pick.
I have 90 footsloggin boyz, a battlewagon or two with burnas, maybe some lootas, and maybe a squad of nobz and deffkoptas.
I'm leaning towards maybe a big mek for the kff for the boyz. But Idk, any suggestions?

The two bosses that I use in my 1500 ork army are Mad Dok and a normal warboss (with attack squig and a cybork body).
Mad Dok I normally put with a squad of ard boys, and because of Dok when my boys get into battle they actually do really well.

Your question can't be answered appropriately without knowing what kind of army you want to build. What's your theme?

If your theme is mostly footsloggin Green Tide then two BigMeks with KFF would serve you well, or one BigMek with KFF and a Warboss to make some Nobs in a BW troops. Ghazzy is always a nice choice even in a footslogging army but he is much more limited without a ride. I used to stick him in a BW with Burnas. I would roll up, Ghazzy would jump out, the Burnas would drop a bunch of flamer templates on a unit and Ghaz would eat a unit or tank. Decent trick, not top tier, but decent. Dash's link is excellent btw, I would suggest any newish Ork player read it.

Its hard to go wrong with a BigMek - if you have vehicles or walkers. Question is what else to take...
Snikrot makes Commandos great - so use him if you use them.
Ghazkull will give his huge 6" Waaaugh move to 90 footsloggers (and he can ride in a wagon!) and he makes your Nobs troops.
Warboss is a cheaper alternative. I take cheap one (Big Choppa) with my MANZ, and occasionally trot out the WarbikeBoss to frighten people.
My Mek is always there...

Snikrot is not a HQ that takes up a slot so you can use him and 2 other HQ's. Bigmek kff gets my vote from what I see in your list. Just think how many saves you can make footsloggin 90 boys across the board. Now what about 2 big meks with KFF. Way cheaper too.

Alright, so i'm definately gonna put in a big mekk with a kff for my boyz. Then I was thinking Ghazghkull in a trukk or wagon.
sound good? any other suggestions?
Also how should I run ghazghkull? Everyone seems to always put him in a vehicle, so alone in a wagon? a wagon with nobz? in a battlewagon?
and thanks for the responses everyone

At lower point limits Ghazghull is a bit expensive. I'd go with, under 1500 points, a Warboss decked out with a PK, Cybork, Attack Squig, and maybe throw in a combi-weapon. The Warboss is a very point efficient. The Big Mek with a KFF is also very cheap and a force multiplier handing out saves to your units.
When you get into the higher point games Ghazghull is a beast.

Wierdboys are just regular fun. Interesting in close combat, so if you take one, put it with some footslogging boyz.

I have become a fan of Zogwort. You get the fun of Weirdboys with the option of making an IC a squig. Plus, he is quit nasty in CC. d6 I4 attacks + 2A (normal) +1A (on the charge) that are all poisoned and wound on a 2+. Plus, if you roll Warpath, you get ANOTHER attack. Potentially, you could have 10 attacks that wound on a 2+.

Good too see someone else does this. I've had this unit take down 2 assault squads, a terminator squad, and almost a 2nd terminator squad by the time the battle was over and still have a dozen guys at the end of the game.
At the end of the month I will be trying these guys with Zogwort, hoping the "'ere we go" can help them from getting kitted around, I also thought about adding Ghazzy but slow and purposeful would slow the unit down.

Thus, After having thus successively taken each member of the community in its powerful grasp and fashioned him at will, the supreme power then extends its arm over the whole community. It covers the surface of society with a network of small complicated rules, minute and uniform, through which the most original minds and the most energetic characters cannot penetrate, to rise above the crowd. The will of man is not shattered, but softened, bent, and guided; men are seldom forced by it to act, but they are constantly restrained from acting. Such a power does not destroy, but it prevents existence; it does not tyrannize, but it compresses, enervates, extinguishes, and stupefies a people, till each nation is reduced to nothing better than a flock of timid and industrious animals, of which the government is the shepherd

You are right, I used him on some Nids and he work really well on the MC's. He works well with a group of 30 Ard boys on a high count game. If you get off Warpath with this group. There is a dead group of anything and for fun put in a Nob with a PK ! Cost a lot but so much fun and dont forget when the get beamed up by scotty that you could have 30 Guys pop out of the sky ! A lot of fun !

In my experience with 5th ed a Big Mek with KFF is a must have in most lists.
With cybork, eavy armor and a Burna he comes to 120 pts and can actually do some real damage in CC (4x S5 I4 PW attacks when charging).
The thing a lot of people neglect when considering him is the fact that he lets you take a Deff Dredd as a troop choice. You can get a rock solid Deff Dredd for 100-120 pts, and if he's within 6" of that Mek he has 4+ cover. In effect a Deff Dredd replaces a Warboss in terms of brute CC output.
Take the extra HS slot that's free, put the Big Mek in a BW with whatever you like and keep the Deff Dredd close, now you've got some serious green muscle rollin down the board.
I'm also a fan of the WB with full kit and a PK. He comes in around 125 and being able to make Nobz into Troops is awesome.
Now take the WB and Nobz, give them all warbikes and now we're really talking

Generally you take a couple of kff meks, or kff mek and warboss. For fun, warbosses with weirdboys can be cool for green tide. Extra waaaghs? Yes please!

My Orks almost always run with KFF mek and a Powerklaw warboss with attack squig and cybork. In larger games (above 2,000), the warboss becomes Gazzy.

A Warboss and a Big Mek with KFF. Now actualy 5 meganobz is cheaper than 5 Nobz with PK's . And they are [possibly even better with the 2+ armour save. Slow and purposeful is a drawback but i still think they are better than normal Nobz
