How is Living Lightning not up there? It's a close second to JotWW.

I like how Alessio Cavatore admitted, more or less, that Lash was ... did he say, 'too powerful'? In that interview recently ...

JoTWW is the most broken in that list, but both Living Lightning and Murderous Hurricane are both extreamly annoying in their own ways as well. They're all situational. LL kill mech, MH will make footslogging lists cry and JoTWW is just evil for low Initiate or high price models (Orks, Tau, Necrons, Nurgle based armies) not to mention it's ability to snipe.

If JOTWW wasn't allowed to snipe out specific models, but hit a number of models equal to what the line covered i wouldn't have such an issue with it.

Since when is a huge freaking ravine a sniper rifle?

Doesn't help that I play 2 I2 armies- Orks and Necrons.

I think these things are 'tested' for power level only against Marines, not against the other races, as they tend to be a lot more resilient to a lot of this stuff...

If they couldn't snipe and were just "one wound, no armor saves" Jaws would still be a great power, but not the hideously broken thing it is now.

I vote for Lash. I'm not sure if it's cheesier than Jaws (a power I refuse to use with my Wolves) but something about moving your opponent's models just seems dirty.

None of these.

Murderous Hurricane. Especially if people are playing by the rules and it doesn't have a range to it's secondary effect.

"'players must agree how they are going to select their armies, and if any restrictions apply to the number and type of models they can use."

This is an actual rule in the actual rulebook. Quit whining about how you can imagine someone's army touching you in a bad place and play by the actual rules.

What exactly do you mean by a range to its secondary effect? The unit it hits counts all terrain as difficult and dangerous next turn. Seems pretty straight forward to me. Am I missing something? It seems like a pretty standard power, I can't see why you would call it cheesy.

I hate anything that's a "remove from the game" power. I mean why bother with ID and EW if you're going to make this junk?

The rules say "next turn that unit treats...". There would be no way for it to affect any other unit. Ah well, I assume this has been debated to death anyway.

The problem with Lash is that now that most people are meched up, it's far harder to use now, unless you pop a transport.

How did i know everyone was going to say Jaws? And why living lightning? D6 S7 AP5 shots is cool but not that scary and i wanted to go for a different army for each one.

JOTWW into a big mech... cheesiest tactic I have seen: I was in a double tourny, my partner running a Kan Wall, while I ran a gunline SM list. The Wolves Player rushed their Priest up and JOTWW the Mech. GAME OVER YEAAA.

The Fzorgle is pretty tame in Mechammer 40k; the only time it's cheesy is when there are two.

"Oh look, I can't do anything with my Fzorgle against your transports... well that was a waste of a psychic power."

At least with Swolves and Jaws you can use your 15 MLs and masses of LC/PG/TLLC razorbacks to break transports open first.

Mandorallen turned back toward the insolently sneering baron. 'My Lord,' The great knight said distantly, 'I find thy face apelike and thy form misshapen. Thy beard, moreover, is an offence against decency, resembling more closely the scabrous fur which doth decorate the hinder portion of a mongrel dog than a proper adornment for a human face. Is it possibly that thy mother, seized by some wild lechery, did dally at some time past with a randy goat?' - Mimbrate Knight Protector Mandorallen.

No Zogwort's Curse?

Thus, After having thus successively taken each member of the community in its powerful grasp and fashioned him at will, the supreme power then extends its arm over the whole community. It covers the surface of society with a network of small complicated rules, minute and uniform, through which the most original minds and the most energetic characters cannot penetrate, to rise above the crowd. The will of man is not shattered, but softened, bent, and guided; men are seldom forced by it to act, but they are constantly restrained from acting. Such a power does not destroy, but it prevents existence; it does not tyrannize, but it compresses, enervates, extinguishes, and stupefies a people, till each nation is reduced to nothing better than a flock of timid and industrious animals, of which the government is the shepherd

I've lost games to lash

I've lost years of my projected life expectancy to Jaws, especially when you can have 4 people casting it at once...

I no longer fear jaws at all. This is probably due to the fact that we used to get it wrong and think that it was units, not models, that were removed. Lets just say that after you have seen a platoon in a multi storey ruin disappear down a crevice you don't mind a few sniped models.
