When me and my buddy used to stay up all night with a bucket and 6x8 Epic table it was Bolt Thrower and Monster Magnet.
Nowadays it's a little more sedate. Listening to alot of soundtrack music. John Williams, Enio Morricone, etc.
But given the choice I would go with Opeth as being the best all rounder.
I like John Williams, but there is no way I could stay up late playing warhammer listening to that. At my age it is hard enough to stay up past 9:00 PM without listening to instrumental music.
If I need to stay up late and need music for killing, it will be Cradle of Filth.
Not that I ever get to choose music in my warhammer group (it's simply way too varied and weird at times), but we listen to a mix of progressive metal, heavy metal and death metal.
Without a fail, however, is Devin Townsend. Always Devin Townsend.
"Friglatt Tinks e's da 'unce and futor git, but i knows better. i put dat part in when i fixed im up after dat first scrap wid does scrawn pointy ears and does pinkies." Dok chopanblok to Big Mek Dattrukk.

Damn! How could I've missed him!? Strapping Young Lad is going on tonight!
Well if we're playing on the table here at home it's usually a lot of doom or local metal. Occasionally Opeth. If we're over at a friends house the radio usually has NPR or a hiphop/RnB station on for laughs.
The stores around here (and I think the former battle bunker too, if I recall correctly) all have lord of the rings soundtracks on loop. It's kinda annoying. I haven't been in a store for ages because of this.
Someone else actually listened to Bolt Thrower? Wicked!
For me it's usually these fine gentlemen:
Edit: Sweet! I'm a Gaunt now! Snarl hisss and so forth.

In that foulest of ages, this ship had hung in the skies above Holy Terra as the world's atmosphere burned. Its name was Ashallius S'Veyval, in a dead language, from a dead world. In Imperial Gothic, it translated loosely as Echo Of Damnation.
Thank Heaven! The crisis --The danger, is past, and the lingering illness is over at last --, and the fever called "Living" is conquered at last.
