Hi, can someone please explain to me how i fire my warp lightning cannon as i have one, but i have only used it once and the rules REALLY confused me...

If i could figure out how to actually use the damn thing i may be tempted to take it more often over my Plaugeclaw Catapult.

Please Help

Select a range you want to shoot at and put a marker down.

Roll the art dice, if you dont get a misfire, move the marker that many inches forward.

Roll the art dice again, that is how many inches the shot "bounces" anything in that line takes a hit from the cannon, the strength equal that dice roll. At the end of that line put the small template, anything touch also takes a hit at strength equal to that art dice roll.

It fire just like a cannon, with a few quirks.

1) Choose a target point, within the cannon's maximum range of 48"; I'd put a marker there. (Typically, I like about 7" short of whatever I'm aiming at.)
2) Roll the artillery die; on a numeric result, the shot "lands" at your target point + however many inches you rolled. So, if you rolled a 6, and your initial spot was 7" short of your target, the shot "lands" 1" short of your target.
3) Roll the artillery die again. On a numeric result, the shot "bounces" that many inches forward. At the end of the bounce, the shot explodes into a small blast marker. Everything under the line between the landing point and the end of the bounce is hit; everything under the small blast marker is hit. The shot has a strength equal to the number rolled on the "bounce" roll. No armor save, d6 wounds.

One thing I've been a little unsure of is whether a model can be hit twice. For instance, if the line goes through a model, and then the template covers the model after the "explosion". Is that two hits? If the model in question is a character, does he need two LoS! saves, or is one sufficient to transfer both hits to the unit?

@steamdragon

I'd say by RAW, it could be hit twice. It's an odd occurrence, as AFAIK, the WLC is the only cannon with a template so far, so the rules only cover so far as combining the two types of rules, which would give it 2 hits: once with the ball itself and once with the explosion.
