Looking for some guidance on a conversion I am trying to do. This will be the first conversion I have done so I don't have a lot of experience. I am also new to fantasy, played 40k for about 10 years. I am running a few squads of slaves that are made up of goblins and dwarf warriors. I purchased a brass necklace from Hobby Lobby and plan to use this as the chains that will connect each model in ranks. My issue is how to connect the chain to each model. I have come up with a couple of options, but am open to new ones or guidance on how to implement these:

1. Simply take a loop in the necklace and go over one hand on each model
2. Take a loop and cut it in half and glue it to the from of each model at the neck. This will look like they have chains around their neck.

I doubt this will be a hard conversion, but as I said this will be my first and so I don't want to screw it up and mess up the models. If anyone else has done anything like this descriptions or photos would be very helpful.

If your GS skills are anything to go by, you could make small harnesses and have the chain linked to the back (via harness) with a larger skaven character holding them (like leashes) and a whip maybe?

Maybe not the best idea but a shot in the dark that you might be able to work with.

The harness is a good idea, however I feel the chain around the neck is more subservient. Honestly if the chain is the correct size, you can loop it tightly around their neck and if you paint a little blood and rust on the chain it will look very nice. You could also do simple ankle shackles with green stuff and some more length of chain to enhance the effect if you like.

I made similar units for my SKaven army using skaven, gnoblers, goblins and flagellants( these look aweosme as slaves due to all the chains and locks the have on em).

I used GW barbed wire as it was a good size comparison for the models and I wrapped it round arms and legs to look like chains. I didn't link them all together as this can be a real pain when taking away casualties in game but when they are together they looked cool. Oh and I used packmasters on the back rank to look like they were driving the unit forward.

loop the chain around the neck of each slave and glue in place. For bonus points, then carefully remove a spare link from the end of the chain with pliers then reattach it to the chain loop around each neck.

Another option would be to make a greenstuff or plasticard collar around each neck then attach the chain to that.

Greenstuff little cuffs around their ankles and necks, then cut one of the little hoops on the chain in half. Take the smallest piece and push into the GS and then loop the other half round so it looks like shackles.
