Now, whenever I play a game, at the end I notch all of the surviving figures bases, so I can see who my veterans are. I have a boy who has seen more battles throught than any two other models combined! My space wolf friend murmors a prayer to the emperor before all his battles. A chaos daemon player I know chants and pulls out a fake demonic tome whenever he summons some daemons. I know a tau player that has named all his models, and has a little note pad to keep track of who's-who, and whenever a higher ranked guy dies, he promotes a guy to take his place. So, do you have and gaming rituals?

I model on scars and trophies for epic win moments, like my khorne lord bringing down an avatar in 1 round of close combat.

"He was already dead when I killed him!"

Eye of Terra.

I used to sell my army at every defeat, whip my dice across the room after a bad roll or, procede to eat cheetos and handle my opponents miniatures.

Does this count?

Well, on a more mundane level, I add little symbols or event 'promote' certain figures after a particularly good result at a tourney.

Loving the tau players idea. I just give models little trophies for amazing feats and they get the honour of a name for extraordinary game-winning feats: even my independent character have to earn their names, Lysander still hasn't earnt his, he's just hammer-termie dude.

I play:
Imperial Fists - 9000 pts
Tyranids - 1500 pts

GENERATION 9: The first time you see this, copy and paste it into your sig and add 1 to the number after generation. Consider it a social experiment.

I sacrifice a perfect lamb and splatter the blood over the gaming table. I am yet to find a tournement where I haven't been escorted off the premises by police.

Whenever my Archon enters the battle on his Venom I 'The Prince has arrrriiivvvveeeedd" in a high pitched voice, and model damage on my vehicles. I have a Raider covered in bio sludge after taking combined fire from 60 Gaunts with Devourers.

I glare angrily at my models.

It doesn't work.

Mandorallen turned back toward the insolently sneering baron. 'My Lord,' The great knight said distantly, 'I find thy face apelike and thy form misshapen. Thy beard, moreover, is an offence against decency, resembling more closely the scabrous fur which doth decorate the hinder portion of a mongrel dog than a proper adornment for a human face. Is it possibly that thy mother, seized by some wild lechery, did dally at some time past with a randy goat?' - Mimbrate Knight Protector Mandorallen.

After every game I make sure all of my dice are facing the same way in their container. Also models that do well or amazing things get promoted, I had a shas'la who was the last member of his squad kill a Defiler with a EMP grenade. He then was repainted to be a Shas'ui. Then he shot and took the last wound from a DP which got him promoted again etc etc.

I read on the UnderEmpire of someone who buys a box of guys he beat in a prior match and paint them with the same scheme to model them as "skaven slaves"

Thus, After having thus successively taken each member of the community in its powerful grasp and fashioned him at will, the supreme power then extends its arm over the whole community. It covers the surface of society with a network of small complicated rules, minute and uniform, through which the most original minds and the most energetic characters cannot penetrate, to rise above the crowd. The will of man is not shattered, but softened, bent, and guided; men are seldom forced by it to act, but they are constantly restrained from acting. Such a power does not destroy, but it prevents existence; it does not tyrannize, but it compresses, enervates, extinguishes, and stupefies a people, till each nation is reduced to nothing better than a flock of timid and industrious animals, of which the government is the shepherd
-Alexis de Tocqueville.

I play a game where the winning player gets to choose from the opponents bitz box, wooden boxes my friends and I put together with each other.

Then there are the Creeds of the Bitz Boxes...

1. You are required to take any extras from your sprues and place them in your bitz box, no exceptions. However, larger bits are to be placed in the Ritz Cracker box of Mighty Battles

2. If you win a battle, for every objective or kill point made exceeding your opponent, you MAY take a bit from their bitz box.

3. If you lose a battle, for every objective or kill point lost by you must give up a bit from your bitz box, you cannot be a sore loser, this game is for fun!

4. If you win an epic/apoc/large battle, you may opt to take a large/major bit from the Ritz Cracker box of Might Battle. This piece MUST be incorportated onto a model in your army, or piece of homemade terrain.

5. No one model can accumulate more than 5 Trophies of battle, unless the individual single handedly won the battle for you on the final turn.

AND, the 2nd most important rule of all, you are required to name all HQ choices, Vehicles, and Models with trophies.

The most important is to have fun...

+1 Str for like 5 points? To autocannons or assault cannons? Hell yea. Then the Reinforced Aegis upgrade for free AND the ability to ignore stunned shaken.. pretty much for free..
Other Dreadnaughts should just go somewhere and be a toaster.

Mattieu~~~~ It's not that eldar are bad, it's that they require a lot of intergration between units. Also, that doesnt prove anything other than GW has a huge hard-on for marines, and, given the option between making a xeno the best psykers or making a marine the best psyker, they will 9 times out of 10 choose the marine.
