im willing to bet there will be a scent, but like all things, once its completely dry..... hence why im wondering. It might take a lot longer to dry, its just.. ive never seen anyone use this idea, and i really want to do it... maybe when i reach the bottom of the bottle....... (glass 4... woohboy!)

It probably won't do so well, especially in the long term abuse phase. All I'd say is try it and see if anyone notices.

I will adimit though, the drinking portion has given me more patience in painting details, its been an hour and im still working on the stiped on my thousand sons. I take this as a good sign.

OkAY I reached the bottomg of the bottle, and i did use the dregs as inks, I have ten bloodletters and i applied half win as a wash to half of them. I will give you images of results tomorrow night!

Okay, holy crap, i do NOT regret doing this.... i like the effect it had, the test will be the result as of tomorrow night

.....seriously? 60+ views and hardly any comments. I AM being serious when I ask whether someone has used wine as a wash or ink. From the test I did, so far, it has different properties from any ink or wash I used to date, Im also willing to bet that I am not the only one that came up with the idea.

Dried wine reacts to sunlight, it congeals and if it's on any kind of surface, it cracks. It also goes mouldy, and begins to reek.

How do I know this?

The weekend the hangover didn't go away.

So ill...

You could try it but the alcohol would probably strip the normal paint...

Yeah wine is pretty acidic, I think it would ruin your paint job.

2 concerns...

1. Why or are you drinking alone (it's not a very good idea around models)?
2. Seriously, who drinks wine anymore...?

1. Drinking alone is never a good idea (around models - OR people who eat occasionally). Kinda puts out the 'sad, lonely nerd' vibe.

2. I drink wine - I live in a wine region that has some great wines. Prefer beer, but wine will do better with some meals.

Aside from the issues of stinky organics and the potential effects on the underlying paint, I don't see this working well due to how the wine will dry. Ever leave a drop on the counter or the rim of a cup? Most colored liquids (wine, coffee, etc.) tend towards ringing, far more than a wash (with all the proper additives) would.

I'm curious to see the results, at least.

You could always varnish it after it dries!
