I'm thinking of trying out the Kan Wall at a 1500-point tournament next month. What do you think of the following list?
2 x Big Mek, Kustom Force Field 85 points each, 170
2 x 5 Lootas 75 each, 150
3 x 30 Boyz; Nob w/Klaw, Boss Pole 220 each, 660
3 x 3 Killa Kans all with Rokkits 150 each, 450
Deff Kopta, rokkits, buzz saw 70
Does anyone have experience with the Kan Wall at 1500? It works super at 1850, but I haven't tried it for a smaller game.
In particular, I'm wondering how it holds up against Thunderwolf Calvary, since I know I'll see them in the tournament.

Seems it should work well. I might see about getting in more lootas if you can though.

Looks fairly typical. Never tried it myself, I do like how Grotzookas look on paper on one of the kan units, especially in a tournament setting as you may face some hordes. Another set of 5 lootas would be nice as well as a 2nd deffkopta, anything Orks do usually require at least 2 of something to get a job done, 2 units of 1 kopta would be cool, also nice to "pinch" their forces with scouting from either side.

Thus, After having thus successively taken each member of the community in its powerful grasp and fashioned him at will, the supreme power then extends its arm over the whole community. It covers the surface of society with a network of small complicated rules, minute and uniform, through which the most original minds and the most energetic characters cannot penetrate, to rise above the crowd. The will of man is not shattered, but softened, bent, and guided; men are seldom forced by it to act, but they are constantly restrained from acting. Such a power does not destroy, but it prevents existence; it does not tyrannize, but it compresses, enervates, extinguishes, and stupefies a people, till each nation is reduced to nothing better than a flock of timid and industrious animals, of which the government is the shepherd

Or you could just kill everything they have and not worry about objectives. but that doesn't usually work. Although the kan wall can potentially pull it off.
The list is a perfect example of a standard 1500 pts kan wall. If you want to sacrifice a boys unit and drop it down to 20 or so to accommodate a unit of grots for objectives that could work.

The trouble with any changes is the points must come from Boyz or Kans. I did consider slimming down the mobs a bit. An extra troop would be useful.

Put Grotzookas on one of the Kan units, more Lootas (if possible), and retweak your Boyz so you have a 4th troop choice
Also (again if possible), work your list to fit in another Buzzkopta... just to be a
Enjoy your Waaagh!

Skarshak, his list doesn't have the room to do all those things. He is down to the bones in terms of what he can do.
IMO the only thing you can do is slim down a boys unit to get a grot for objective holding. Other than that you are very limited to what you can do. your original list should work well though either way.

Not sure on the points cost aspect, but I will concur that 4x20boyz >3x30boyz.
Grotzookas are great against hordes of low armour (gaunts, gaurd, other orks, etc).
Get yourself another kopta, orks work by numbers and multiple redundancy (i.e. if you blow up one kopta, there is still another one that can do the job!). I would even suggest switching them for rokkit buggies, as buggies can't be killed by anything S3 or under

I gave a 1500-point Kan-Wall list a try this evening. It was only a little different than the list above; I played a Grot squad instead of the Kopta and I put three big shootas in one mob of boyz to fill-out the points. My opponent showed up with a 1500-point Dark Eldar list; I had been expecting a 2,000-point game in which I could have used the Ultimate Kan Wall IA:8 list, but we are planning to play in a 1500-point tournament this weekend, so it made sense to practice. His first lance shot wrecked a Kan, he never took another out. On the second turn, I made every cover save on the Kans and most of them on boyz as well. The third turn wasn't much better for him and on the fourth when I finally began to fail cover saves, he couldn't roll over three on a penetration result. So it was on the start of turn five that eight Kans and 80+ boyz were poised to charge a badly damaged DE force - with two destroyed raiders and another immobilized, two Venoms wrecked or destroyed, and one Trueborn squad hoofing it back to wherever they came from. He called it quits!
