It's not like you're loading new pictures every time someone quotes the post. It's the same image stored in your cache, displayed again.

It doesn't make it any less of a ballache scrolling past them every time.

Yup, it's annoying, especially on a portable device, to scroll past several large pictures for the 4th time just to read "wow, bro!" at the end. As for the cache issue, that's dependant on your browser and device and how often you check the site; mine reloads every time I load the browser. Either way, it's a simple courtesy that can easily be extended to fellow members so I don't see what the objection is...

These folks have certainly inspired me to improve my modeling and look at the build of each figure as a chance to do something new. To make that figure one-of-a-kind.

To wit, I present one beakie sternguard (well, two actually, but it's the unprimed guy I'm going to focus on). To get a beakie into this pose, every single limb has to be deconstructed to some degree, then re-assembled (some Green Stuffed, some not). The effect however, is a marine raising his gun to fire in a more natural fashion that could be done with the stock models, even though it uses the stock parts. In any case, imperfect as my execution may be, I think it represents a much more interesting and believable pose for a marine, especially a sternguard. (Oh, ignore that sloppy GS work, that got cleaned up before priming.)

Ahh this one makes me feel all warm and fuzzy.

Some of you may have seen it in my blog, and since pretty much everything I do is a conversion, it's was hard to choose, but I think my Khorne Slaughterfiend Defiler is the most characterful of the stuff I've done:

It's in the IA books, and it is pretty much a Defiler, ridden by a champion of Khorne, with the ability to carry a squad of berzerkers.

Completely agree, but he was complaining about bandwidth, not general ugliness.

I'm altering the complaint. Pray I don't alter it any further.

Agreed, I love seeing siege tanks with different lines than the Rhino chassis. This one has great lines. Is that based on a Tank Destroyer?

Thanks! I just took a look at the guy who inspired me to start my Berzerker Warband after 15 years away from the hobby - he deserves an honourable mention as well. My Berzerker Dread, Ragnarok:

This thread is amazing. So many amazing models, and so much great inspiration. Keep it up everybody.

At the moment, these models at my best ones IMO: Eliphas & Araghast from Dawn of War II: Chaos Rising.

Araghast (this one is the only one, who got some minor conversions like the face on his trophy racks and his helmet is a converted helmet from MaxMini):

Thanks. I'm glad you like them.

The're from the Black Legion (if you've tried Dawn of War: Dark Crusade, you know that Eliphas originally was a Dark Apostle of the Word Bearers, but in Dawn of War II: Chaos Rising, he has been resurrected as Black Legion Aspiring Champion).
