Bounding Black Templar Assault Marine

The forge world ultramarine dreadnought is a beautiful, beautiful thing. (third down, centre)

However, it does have a problem. Its an Ultramarine dreadnought, rather than a blood angel one, and so is covered with ultramarine markings. "Easy enough to solve" I thought, "just a little bit of cutting and sanding..." Then it hit me. I've never worked with resin, and I remember someone saying that its hard and dangerous to work with because the particles can summon a giant cosmic crab or something...

So dakka, how do you solve a problem like resin...?

resin is soft and makes TONS of irritating dust when you sand it down

just be careful you are sawing, or sanding, not "forcing" a bladed surface through the model as it is prone to cracking.

When you sand it keep a "dip bucket" near by. Dip your sanding stick,/ paper, or what ever into it every few minutes. It makes for a little bit of a mess but keeps the dust down significantly which is what is toxic w/ resin. It also produces a much smoother finish when wet sanding.

^ This. Resin dust can cause cancer, the malignant kind, not the constellation kind. Keep it out of your lungs
