Here is the first sample miniature of the new Tau army being built for the studio. There will be three squads of Firewarriors and a metric-ton of battlesuits. I hope to have more pics to share in the next few weeks.

Is your hand made of stone or something? Last time I painted a Tau shoulderpad, I went waaay over the line, and I am too lazy to get around to fixing it. Awesome job!!!

Like it wery much! You have used wery good colours. It looks almost like cookie =)

I like it, good solid colours that work well together.

I think it's marred a little by the head positioning, but that's just my opinion.

Plans for a whole army in this scheme, it'd look great, eager to see how it translates to a battlesuit.

Paint the bottom of that base white so it really looks like he is in snow.

It looks nice and crisp, but I don't like the glossy look to the cloth and reds.

Wow that is really painted well, usually it is hard to make whit armour look good but you have done it very well, it looks amazing.

Here are the first 4 Firewarriors out of the squad of 10. I'm really happy with how the paint scheme turned out, and I am anticipating it to be amazing across any entire Tau force.

I agree Bob. Great job, by the way. Whites are hard to do.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but you either used a lot of Matte varnish or you went with Semi-Gloss. My first guess is Semi-Gloss. Of course, inappropriate use of inks will do this too.

To fix: When done, varnish with Matte. When dry, you should be wondering if you put enough on. If you don't need to wonder, then you've overdone it. Then hand-paint over the parts you want shiny with the liquid high-gloss varnish. I'd say use 'Ard Coat, but I've never used it so don't know. I used this on my IG as I painted them in Inquisition colors and I wanted their armor to be look extra shiny and polished but didn't want the cloth/skin shiny. Worked great.

Minor quibble though. Overall it's above the bar great job.

The white and black really pop.

I like the scheme and looking forward to seeing the rest once it's finished.

Not a dig at you primarchstudio, but at GW, but does anyone else hate the way the head has to sit when you use the 'readied' rifle?
