Okay, so a Warboss assaults a unit of Termies, causes 1 casualty and then dies  Can a unit of Nobz then assault the Termies in the same assault phase?

What?
In your assault phase you have a warboss and nobs nearby some terminators to assault them. You declare your assaults and proceed with them moving into base to base, then your opponent reacts. Then you determine who can fight, and start rolling.

you make all of your assault moves, before your opponent makes all of his "defenders react" moves, then you start fighting.

He is right, you dont fight with one group and then fight with a different group. You make all your moves then check too see if you are in assault range then you assault all together !

And a combat with multiple units is resolved at the same time, so the Warboss and the Nobs all go at it at once with the enemy unit they engaged together.
