For my 1750 BA list I wanted to run a few dreadnoughts, as I was researching I figured he most point effective way to get them on the table was drop pods, so I set out out to look at forgeworld and find out what dreadnought drop pods go for, and man was I floored when I saw the price, and I realized, I could make those!!

So this is my attempt at making dreadnought drop pods.

Feel free to check out my blog for more pictures and a copy of the list I will be running!

Looking good. How heavy are you planning to go with the detail?

Do the doors open?

VERY nice indeed!

An excellent solution to a 'problem' with the regular kit - well done!

@ Soup--These will be quite detailed once done, this is largely still a WIP at this point, but I have a source for rivets and the armor plating will continue across the whole door, the inside might be kept a bit spartan, but as a whole they should look just fine sitting next to a normal drop pod. Yes the doors do open, if you head on over to my blog you can find a link to my online gallery that has an image w/ the doors open.

@ Lord--Me too!!! The 1750 tourney I will be running these guys in is the last weekend of June, so I have got a bit of time still to finish them up.

@Drowned-- Initially a dread could fit inside perfectly, but once I added the bit for the stormbolter attachment things got a bit tight, but the scale is quite nice.

@Alpharius--Thanks, my inspiration was the $100+ Foreworld price tag!! Altogether I think I spent about 20$ on the bits off of ebay...so not a bad investment.
